Had a very nice lunch here en route to the Pushkin Museum from the Tolstoy Literary Museum. The inside is replete with retro Soviet decor while the outside (where we ate) is a lovely shaded outdoor cafe. The food-- a mix of traditional Russian and Soviet staples -- was good. We particularly enjoyed the borscht.

We found this restaurant on our guide and we really enjoyed the dinner we had here. Food was well done and really good and the jazz group which played here made the atmosphere very cosy and lovely. I strongly suggest this place if you are in Moscow above all Wednesday and Friday night when there is the Jazz night!

Very reasonable price and good food make it probably the best choice for lunch or dinner in Arbat area of Moscow. The restaurant has a "student" theme. I went there for lunch once, but will definitely come again.

Staying in Khamovniki

Neighbourhood Profile
Khamovniki
Khamovniki could be considered a city of its own – here it’s possible to find some of Moscow’s most important cultural institutions such as the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Novodevichy Convent and Trubetskikh Estate, great sport locations such as Luzhniki stadium and aqua complex, and long and beautiful Luzhniki embankment. Pick your preferred form of transport to explore the area – bicycle or river cruise during the summer and taxi in winter as many of the great places are situated beyond a short walk.
