The place is absolutely stunning. Staff is very helpful and almost all speak English. It was my first night in Moscow and ordered a Russian tasting, a selection of Russian dishes to get an idea of the cooking. Very nice indeed. Wine is way too expensive. I tried kvas and beer, which I liked. This restaurant is well worth a... More

Historical building with an amazing menu,a lot of waiters trying to help you in the choice, expensive menu in general but you can also find a combination that helps you to enjoy the restaurant without spend a lot of money.Very nice interior with one part as a library and other as a farmacy, very nice both spaces. Only problem if we can... More

This restaurant was definitely a highlight of our trip, as I think it is for most tourists, and was quite expensive food-wise but worth it especially for the service and atmosphere that we got with it. Although I'd avoid the champagne and expensive wine altogether, the prices were ridiculously high. We were on the second floor, which had a traditional... More

Some say this is a must do, a must see... I don't agree. Well time stood still in Café Pushkin, that's for sure. But this place (and some of the staff) have no 'joie de vivre', a little depressing even. If you have other restaurants on your wishlist in Moscow, but you really want to see the neo-baroque decor, then... More

We visited for dinner on a recent trip to Moscow. The restaurant is beautiful. The staff are attentive and have no difficulties communicating in English. The food is excellent - I had mushrooms and then venison and both were fantastic as was the honey cake. My only slight complaint is that the courses came a little quickly, but at no... More

There is not much to add to the numerous comments about the atmosphere and setting of the restaurant - exceptional without being snobbish. From a restaurant in this class I expect food to arrive at the same time for all at the table - when my starter arrived my daughter had finished hers. We tried a mix of Russian and... More

This is clearly an overpriced tourist trap - and I fell right in! I feel rather dumb for doing so, but it just shows how easy it is to be misled by the web. I was alone, so they seated me in the freezing cold basement (after ten minutes I really wished I hadn't checked my coat in at the... More

We went there for breakfast. There was only one more couple in the cafe. My husband asked for scrambled eggs and they brought him was three fried eggs with no bread or anything. Everything was way too expensive. The waitress could hardly speak any English. Overrated.

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighbourhood Profile
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
