Off the beaten path and located on a golf course. Service was very good. Burgers were very good. The seafood chowder was excellent. Club sandwiches were kind of basic. Tasty but basic. The atmosphere was a bit commercial and lackluster. Garish overhead lighting reminiscent of an old bingo hall. Probably perfect after a few holes of golf!

Stopped by Jack Kelly’s restaurant last week for a quick lunch. It was very quiet as would be expected on a Monday in mid September. Service was prompt and the food was way better than the environment might suggest. Overall, the venue needs a bit of updating but the food and service were outstanding.

for quite a few years the food was dreadful if you ordered anything other than a sandwich and fries. Now (for the last year or so), the food has been exceptional. It's pretty apparent that they have a new cook...... altho there have been a couple times the food was only so-so. I guess it all depends on which cook is on duty when you go.

We went there for a Valentine's dinner. The options were about $60/couple for soup, salad, entree and dessert. The place was OK for ambiance, and even though we had a table for 2 and cloth napkins, I wasn't expecting much. That was reinforced when I saw that the soup and salad was self-serve at a table. The soup choices were lobster bisque or chicken veg. I chose the bisque. It was good - like a tomato soup with light seafood flavor. I also chose the Caesar salad vs. just tossed. It was good with a nice dressing, grated cheese and good croutons. There were also other fixings to add, as well as bowls of warm bread. The choices were garlic, focaccia and Italian - all were prretty good.

We attended a Benefit Golf Tournament here recently which was simply amazing. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, the food was phenomenal (try the potato salad you will not be disappointed) and venue was beautiful. This is really a hidden gem in Rensselaer County.

My wife and I drove up from our vacation in Pittsfield to play golf at Burden Lake. The layout of the golf course was excellent and the condition of the fairways and greens wonderful particularly for a course with some serious elevation changes. The owners were very warm and welcoming and we had such a great time we went back two days later. I think any golfer looking for a fun day out would love Burden Lake

Played golf with a friend. Course was not plush at all, fairways very rocky with hard pan clay. Hilly course that needs much better irrigation especially on approaches, tees and fairways. Starter was rude and did not even look at us as we paid for round and asked questions. Will not return or recommend this course.

Food was average, the bar/restaurant was "tired". The staff were very friendly. The course is VERY hilly. It seemed that every ball was either above or below your feet...the lie was never flat! Really did not enjoy the course!

Our visit to Jack Kelly's on the Green tavern was a huge disappointment. Their website boasts that they have wonderful chateaubriand there. I made a reservation and was dismayed to find we were the only people in the dinning room. Our waitress was nice but when asked the price she quoted is one price and billed us for another. When asked, she claimed she didn't really know the price. The soup we had was tasteless. The main dish arrived and it looked like pot roast floating in gravy with chunky vegetables. The meat was cut in chunks and over cooked, burned on the edges. One of the worst meals I have been served.

So it's not your typical Country Club atmosphere but you won't go wrong with the food bar and service here. Relaxed causal atmosphere-the fare is steak seafood or otherwise continental cousins. Jack Kellysaka Tom Chochette is at the helm. It's a bit out of the way, but don't miss this reasonably priced top notch restaurant! Dinner for two with 2 pints each and both ordering steaks was $58. That included your salad bar and soup! The steak and potato was to die for and nearly filled me up so I bearly ate my prime rib!

My wife and I had dinner here on Sunday night and we were very impressed with the food. I had a 10 oz filet and a baked potato, my wife has a chicken salad wrap with fries. Everything was prepared perfectly. The filet was exactly as ordered and server on a hot skillet, the fries were freshly made. We go out often, and to have a everything prepared to perfection is very rare. Service was excellent as well. The only downside was that the salad and soup bar was not available due to a golf league dinner. We will definately be back to sample that. The resturant has a tavern atmosphere, which is fine with us as we were casually dressed. The total bill with drinks was just over $37, which is an amazing value.

Second time playing golf as a substitute player in a league. Course is very challenging, hilly, but very entertaining. Definitely recommend a cart and extra balls. League players were very friendly. You can play per event, have a membership or play in a league. Lot's of options. Fair prices. The restaurant (inside and outside seating) as very good. Good pours, beer selections and very good pub fare. Wait staff are very attractive, polite and attentive. Very good social experience. Use a GPS as it sits in a fairly remote area which is not well identified.

I was recently here for a work function golf event and the owner was just beyond rude. I would never go back unless it's for a work related outing. Thankfully the ranger that was out on the green that day was an absolute doll, he made our day so much better . Also , the food is mediocre and the club house is less than impressive for a " country club".

Visited the restaurant for a family dinner a couple of days before my daughter's wedding was held here this weekend. Words cannot describe how great the food is here! Surrounded by trees awash in gorgeous fall colors. Maybe a little hard to find, but this place is SO worth going a little out of your way. And if you're trying to find the perfect venue for a celebration, stop looking... do it here!
