Why sad to see their season coming to an end, today's visit and meals at Kay's Pizza was as always outstanding in every way. Food is predictably outstanding and the second-to-none service at Kay's makes it our favorite dining place and experience.
The outstanding group of employees serving the outstanding array of reasonably priced dishes at this long-established lakeside restaurant, makes every visit a memorable time out and a lot of fun, but todays was extra special with the so brilliant double rainbows shining over the lake as their current season nears its end in just a few days. Already can't wait for their reopening next spring.
Can's say enough positive things about every aspect of Kay's Pizza.

Son and DIL brought us here for dinner recently and the pizza was great. Crispy on bottom and thick and yummy up top. We had a garlic pizza and a sausage and peperoni one plus medium wings for 5 adults. Place was very busy seeing it was their final night before season ended but they did not disappoint with service, accommodations or wait time. Owner went table to table to see that everyone was happy. I would return here again when visiting the area.

We've been coming here for years. Some of our favorites are the meat lovers or the clam steam one. The dough is good and the place is popular, so I usually just get takeout. They also had a chicken Thai that is good, but I found a little pricey for what it was, though tasty.

Today was our first visit to Kay's Pizza on the lake in Averill Park, but definitely not the last. A friend recently told us about Kay's and so glad he did. We had a late lunch there today and like we do most times, sat at the bar.
The food was outstanding, and the three young ladies working the bar were all outstanding in every way. Very friendly, professional, but casual service and conversations, but always attentive and great service even though they were very busy because of Mother's Day business. Unquestionably, one of the most pleasant dining experiences that we've experienced in a long while, and really appreciated.
Again, the service was outstanding as was the quality if our homemade Clam Chowder and the pizza that followed.

There is a local facebook group that is always mentioning Kay's Pizza. It is a 40 minute drive from us in a direction we usually do not go. However tonight I was semi out that way so I called to order. Due to COVID they do have some seating, but I was doing take out. Their take out orders you call ahead and then they tell you when to pick up. I called right when they opened and was still on hold for 10 minutes or so. The menu is limited to large pizza only - that's ok - pizza freezes nicely. We ordered two pizzas. Upon arrival you enter through the cones and give your name to the parking attendant. Then you pull up and the pizza is handed to you. Super easy and quick.
The pizza was good, probably tastes even better sitting lakeside.

Our first visit to Kays and very impressed. We ordered a pizza to takeout with some modifications. ( no cheese, grilled chicken, mushrooms and banana peppers ) Orginally from Long Island, we had yet to find great pizza but Kays took care of that problem. Not only that but they deducted $2.25 because we had no cheese.
Seriously, who does that? And - they brought the pizza right out to our car !!
We will be back to dine there lakeside. No wonder the place is packed - great food, great prices, great attitude and great views !
That; folks, is a homerun !

The service was great. The Pizza is the very best in the Capital Region. The Clam Chowder was so full of delicious clams and seasoned so well. The view of Burden Lake was magnificent. I love everything about Kay's. I am sure you will too.

For years, we wanted to try something different at Kays. Great pizza but this isn't about pizza - this is about scallops.
Yes, scallops. We got up our nerve and split a scallop dinner. It was damn good and easily enough for two. At $18, you can't go wrong.
Scallops are very expensive and this was a deal. Just saying - different isn't always bad.

Don’t know what people see in this place. A “Large” pizza is about the size of medium anywhere else. Average for taste. It’s expensive and the parking situation a nightmare.

We ate outside in the patio area, which was covered and had heat piped in, as it was early spring and wet weather.
The service was terrific, everyone was helpful and upbeat.
It was PACKED. We were lucky to get a table right away.
The pizzas that came to our table were delicious. One was more traditional, and one had Thai Chicken with a drizzle sauce over. The crusts are tasty too.

Kay's Pizza is known for its pizza and even the slowest night is full - but for those of us who love salads Kay's offers a hidden surprise - their grilled chicken with bacon, and cheese is a great experience. It's large; the salad is always fresh and crisp, the cheese (and egg) always plentiful - We count the days til they reopen in the spring.
