There are people who make a town a community and Paula is such a person who makes you feel that you're welcome in town. Her meals all taste homemade, and it's a delight to see what she's offering each week - special coffees and baked goods are treats as well!

Paula has great cold cuts-usually meat she has cooked herself. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
I had a roast beef diner recently and it was great.

Possibly the best roast beef I've had in a long, long time. And with a damn good pickle to boot. She also makes dinners to go, which I haven't tried but have seen. There's a few tables in the front of the store, inside, where you can eat.

Her food is fabulous. Her specials are just that: special. We never had a special that wasn't amazing. The meats in her deli are top notch. She roasts her own beef too!

My wife and I have been to Paula's many. many times. She serves breakfast sandwiches, regular lunch-time sandwiches, and a special meal every day, Mon-Sat.
We have never been disappointed by anything there. An excellent and creative cook, Paula has a special flair for everything she does. As an example, we recently purchased an 18-pack of her special deviled eggs. They are not only savory, but come with a unique added radish bit or scallion slice on each one. Delicious. About $11 total.
But over everything else is Paula's great personality - always friendly and talkative, with a knowledge of local events or history thrown in for free, she provides a warm and comforting atmosphere to eat in or take out. I should note that Paula's is located in the back of Young's Pharmacy in the center of Averill Park near the blinking yellow traffic light.

Very convenient !! I love eating there. It's like going into your mothers kitchen and eating whatever she puts in front of me. She truly is a great cook and has a huge heart. I love our one on one conversations.

For years I've listened to people bemoan the lack of a good NY Deli level hot pastrami sandwich, (read here Katz's, 2nd Ave., the much mourned Carnigie Deli) in the Capital District. Well moan no more, get yourself over to Paula's, and have Pauls herself carve you up the sandwich you remember from the Big Apple. Most importantly, Paula cooks everything there with heart! She cares about food, and respects her ingredients!!! Brava, Chef,...brava!!!!!
