The restaurant itself is stunning. Only 18 seats, arranged in a U shape around the open cooking area. The chef took the time to explain the different cuts to us and help us find a menu that fit our budget.
Went for the Kobe Sirloin and was absolutely blown away by the tenderness, it practically melts in your mouth.
For those who haven't tried Kobe beef before, this is the perfect experience.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal thanks to the amazing food and staff. Chef Tomoyoshi Kiyokawa and colleagues were extremely friendly, engaging and professional - they did not hesitate to welcome us without a reservation or accommodate my gluten free dietary requirements - something that can represent a few challenges when visiting Japan. The carefully prepared meal was delicious as was the accompanying wines on offer. We came hoping to try the premium beef Japan is famous for and left with so much more - a truly memorable experience of Kyoto hospitality. Okini to Chef Kiokawa and dedicated staff.

The set menu was really good, vibe feels very private and Chef Tomoyoshi has been really friendly. He even showed us the different beef that was on the set menu. The beef sushi was amazing, and the sirloin beef teppanyaki is cooked to our requirements.

Very bad service, totally disappointed by Japanese standard, chef is very unfriendly. Food is only okay. The restaurant is recommended by American Express Centurion Card, it is quite disappointed as the overall quality is not good enough as professional

We went to this French steakhouse. They serve Kobe beef, waygu beef. My family and Friends ordered 20,000 Yen each Kobe beef set dinner. We ordered 2 filet and one sirloin steak 150g. They served us very low grade beef to us. There are other people thinks ordering the same menu but they had very good quality steak. Nice looking and thick. I asked the Teppan chefs what kind of beef was that from the other group. He answered very rude. “It is the same kind of beef and same weigh”. The impression I got from him that he thinks I am complaining which I was not my intention to complain. I just want to know what kind of beef There are more people came later ordered same Kobe beef I heard and noticed they also had very good quality beef. It is so disappointed as we were looking for a good Kobe steak for dinner. Menu show A5 grade Kobe beef but it looks even lower grade than I usually bought from Tokyo central from Los Angeles.

Having dinner at this restaurant is absolutely an amazing experience. The experienced chefs create the dishes in front of you with a tremendous amount of detail and also do the serving with a lot of enthusiasm. The Kobe beef was the best I had in Japan and just melts in your mouth. Thanks to the chefs, we had a wonderful evening which we will not easily forget!

Arrived at the restaurant without a reservation and it was fully booked. We were happy that the chefs made an exception to accommodate our dinner plans nevertheless. The dinner was magical, easily the best beef and experience we had thus far in our Japan trip. We preferred the tenderloin to the sirloin, while both were excellent, the tenderloin was orgasmic. The chefs were wonderful hosts, explaining to us patiently as they whipped up our teppanyaki dinner since the only Japanese we knew was "Arigato". Even my 7-year-old boy, who hates garlic, enjoyed his meal and the crunchy garlic slices served to him. Will return for another meal.

Reservations were made well in advanced and confirmed two days prior. Upon our arrival at the "restaurant" we learned via a white board that they had moved to the gion district. We booked 8:30 as it was the only available booking and we're scrambling to find dinner as most restaurants were either closing or full

Delicious food in a very gourmet setting where the entertainment is watching the chefs lovingly prepare steak several different ways in delicate portions. Everything tasted delicious, the service is impeccable, and the room is special. This is a great place to go for dinner in Kyoto.

6 friends enjoyed a great meal at a reasonable price. AUD$45 each, including drinks. Lovely pound salad (enough for 3) and mixed plate of 5 meats. Girls discovered sparkling sake!

Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
