We dropped into this place for a quick dinner. Took an hour for our pizza to come out. Medium size, decent but paid 1850 yen. Couple of drinks and then got the bill. Questioned the cover charge. 4400 yen for not much and terrible service. We went to Burger King after for some fries which tasted better than what we... More

Lunch buffet - unlimited pizza, pasta, salads, desserts for 1200 JPY (extra 200 JPY to include unlimited soft drinks). Really good value and quick service. Was a queue for tables after about 12midday. Pizza - thin and crispy. Four types on the buffet. Also four pastas and a few hot vegetable dishes. Create your own salad bar and small dessert... More

An hour's wait outside, queuing. We then sat down and played our order. Fifty minutes later the drinks arrived because I had to ask a few times. I then got up and got some top water and was asked to sit down and that is be served. Eventually I did. Almost to the hour the food arrived. Medium sized pizza... More

Really enjoyed our italian meal, the pizzas were thin and fresh and very light. My daughter enjoyed her spagetti. They have outside seating which is by a stream, great location and great food.

The system is that if you do not have a reservation you put your name on a list and wait your turn. After a wait of 45 minutes we got a table and ordered our food. About 45 minutes later one of our group of 4 got her meal. 5 minutes later another person in our group got her meal.... More

This restaurant was on the corner of the street from our hotel and it just looked so right with their patio outside facing the water canal and the Sakura , their waiters screaming something in Italian to each other , the buzz coming out from the inside . I read the reviews and they were not all so good so... More

Everything else was good or ok except the additional fee that was added to the bill upon paying. I don't like unexpected extra fees... Maybe it was mentioned in Japanese in the menu that was only partly translated into English.

Nice location but food is not Ok We tried the beef but it was not eatable. They charge high prices but it was not Ok quality. Go somewhere else. You will only be disappointed with the food at Salvatore!

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
