Great gyoza, good vegetarian options and an energetic atmosphere. The waiters were really helpful. :)

It’s gyoza heaven! We went there twice during our 4-night stay! Each gyoza is better than the other!

Very Nice gyoza dumplings. Only limitation was that the vegetarian choices were limited. Can be very busy. Prepare for a waiting line.

Best gyoza ever. In roughly 20 days spent in Japan, these have been the best gyoza and the best dinner of the trip. Absolutely suggested.

We tried it out, trusting all of the good rewievs, and it was absolutely worth the wait. The Choa choa goyza was especially good. That is absolutely what we would recommend to other guests. Enjoy!

The restaurant is cute. The staff are cute. But the gyoza are poor, no better than frozen ones. Only tourists ate there when we visited—always a bad sign! Even cheap restaurants like Yoshinoya serve better gyoza.

Queue was long but kinda worth it. There were so many special flavoured gyoza! The skin was so thin and nice.

A great place for vegetarians, tourists, and gyoza lovers. It is hard to find any vegetarian dumplings in Japan however, this places had so many options. My whole family enjoyed eating here! The best were the Yuba Gyoza, a fried tofu dumpling, and the mashed potatoes...More

If you love gyoza this is the perfect place to go! You can taste a lot of different types, and they are indeed tasty. The place is very relaxed and the staff super friendly.

Though small by comparison, Pontocho is one of Kyoto's
most spirited and memorable neighborhoods. A narrow
street straddling the Kamogawa River, it is Kyoto's
busiest nightlife spot. When darkness falls,
Pontocho's many signs and lanterns bolt to life,
making the area glow with invitations to passers-by to
come inside and pull up a chair. Its restaurants and
bars sprawl onto the riverbank, providing a friendly

They serve many different types of gyozas. My group of 5 included two vegetarians, two meat eaters and one pescatarian. We also enjoyed a plate of chocolate gyozas. I don't know about halal.

Sorry for the delay in answering, but yes, you could happily dine there alone & you wouldn't be lonely as you'd prob end up part of something else going on there, it's got a lovely communal atmosphere!
