Allways very crowded but very cheap. Try the horse meat sashimi! Other Musashi branch stores available in Kyoto!

It is a typical revolving Sushi restaurant. There are only two price ranges: 146 yen dish (with or without wasabi) and 346 yen dish. The system is simple and easy to understand. Sushi tastes just so so, in spite of the good rating on the TripAdvisor.

What a great find in the Kyoto station. Individual servings on a conveyer belt. Just pick a plate that looks good as it passes your station. There were 5 sushi chefs continually placing new items on the belt. There is green tea bags at the seats along with hot water to make your own tea. Beer and other drinks available... More

There was a line when we arrived just before 7 PM which looked promising. As we shuffled along the waiting seats I realized the crowd was mainly locals with old people, very young people or parents with little kids. The conveyor looked fun and it was busy but it didn't look promising. We had already tried kaiten sushi in Tokyo... More

If you like sushi and are in Kyoto then do try here. Not the best sushi in the world but tasty and cheap. Staff friendly. You sit at counter while chefs make sushi in the centre. Dishes go round on a conveyor belt and you take what you want. Free tea. Plates counted up when you have finished and you... More

Central location. Fresh sushi, very tasty. English menu. I had 7 plates, 2 of them premium and paid 1570 yen. Will go again.

Not bad, but there are much better places. Sushi is not freshly cut on the spot, but "assembled" from white foam boxes (factory style, everything pre-cut). When we wanted to order drinks or something not on the conveyor belt, it took some time to draw attention from the servant. There was only one on the floor we were seated. Service... More

Great selection of sushis. They are quite authentic. It is definitely worth including in your list of places to go.

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
