As we were travelling Route 66 we just had to stop here. We were not to be disappointed. We both decided to have one of the ugly cream pies. My fiancé went for the peanut butter, banana and chocolate cream pie. I plumped for the strawberry rhubarb cream pie. Amazing!!! Don't miss out on the ugly pie experience!! Great people... More

We took time to drive off the Interstate and visit the midpoint on old Route 66. Sadly due to the owner's illness the cafe and gift shop were closed. The property looked really nice; and it is up for sale. The next door motel is being renovated. The site is definitely worth a stop for photo opportunity.

Most people will know of the Midpoint Café if doing Route 66 - the fact that there are several claims on the actual halfway point on R66 is moot - you've gotta visit here if only to try an ugly pie. We had lunch as well and it was excellent. Could be a little bit cheaper, we felt, but never... More

They have "Ugly Pies". What are ugly pies you ask...Ask the lovely woman who bakes them and you will get an answer that starts your day off with a great laugh. They are FRIENDLY people who serve own and run this place and their food is delicious. Good stop so you can take a pic across the street that marks... More

What can I say I have been dreaming about elvis pie ever since I left. My husband had the pecan pie which was pretty good too. This is a lovely stop off on Route 66. Some great souvenirs to be found in the gift store too. I'd highly recommend anyone trying the elvis pie, just wish I could get it... More

It's bang in the middle between Chicago and Santa Monica and well worth a visit if only to say you have been there. But for us it was a very nice break for coffee and muffins home made and great.

This is a beautiful diner with really friendly staff. It's done out in traditional style, is super clean and the food is straightforward and tasty. Loved the hotdog, adored the coconut cream mud pie.

Stopped as part of Route 66 journey. The work the owners have done to make this a must see Route 66 point is great, with road painting logos and addition of midpoint sign. We stopped for an ugly pie (yummy) and couple of drinks. Reasonable price, great service. Good little gift shop attached too

The Midpoint Cafe and Gift Shop is an old cafe style restaurant on Historic Route 66, located at the "Midpoint" between Chicago and LA. New Owner, Dennis Purschwitz, purchased the cafe in March 2012. We cater to locals and those touring Route 66, with numerous international travelers visiting.

In 2015 (between April 1 and end of October), we had guests from 80 countries visit the Midpoint Cafe and Gift Shop. We are within sight of I-40, just off of Exit 22 on RT 66.

Very nice gift shop, specializing in a large selection of Midpoint and RT 66 souvenirs.

Basic American grill for lunch. We are no longer serving breakfast but ware offering limited selection of bake goods for our guests. Specializing in homemade desserts including our world famous "Midpoint Ugly" pies (pies sold by the slice; we do not offer full pies for sale) all made on the premises.

Our normal business hours are open 7 days per week, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with meals (grill) ceasing at 3:00 p.m. We start our lunch menu (grill) at 10 a.m. Please remember that we are in the Central Time Zone, so if traveling east from New Mexico, you lose 1 hour!! Call ahead for tour reservations or to confirm hours of operation.
