I had the tamale and Bowl of soup for lunch. Both were good. The soup was a little salty, but creamy and good. It has a nice patio outdoors with a relaxing atmosphere.

Food here is excellent. Had the peppercorn crusted filet mignon with port wine sauce and jalepeno cheese grits. Fantastic. Pecan pie very good. Service distant and cool, but helpful.

We sat in the garden and enjoyed a tasty steak and Mexican trio. The service was very attentive. We plan to return soon.

Fully booked on Friday night. I had a nice salad with tenderloin and a good tortilla soup. It's pricey but you're lucky to have this kind of a choice in a small town.

We use to live in Fort Worth and loved the Reata there so we made sure we stopped at their first restaurant and only other location while we were traveling from Big Bend. Our server was very good and the food was as always perfect!...More

The menu offered a lot of interesting choices, but we each chose the special which was trout. Great choice. It was fabulous.

The original Reata Restaurant located in the scenic Davis Mountains of west Texas offers the same fine dining and Legendary Texas Cuisine you can find at the Fort Worth location. Alpine, home to Sul Ross State University is near Texas tourist destination Big Bend National Park and the towns of Marathon, Fort Davis and Lajitas. Alpine is also a short drive from Marfa, Texas renowned both for the mysterious Marfa Lights and Donald Judd’s Chinati Foundation.

Reata, named after the legendary ranch in the James Dean classic movie, “Giant”, which was filmed in nearby Marfa, boasts the same high quality Southwestern dining you can find in Fort Worth. This is not food for the faint of heart, from Chicken Fried Steak to Calf Fries or the Pepper Crusted Tenderloin and Cowboy Rib Eye Steak, this is a dining experience not to miss.

Today, Reata Alpine remains a true destination restaurant, attracting loyal diners from miles beyond the charming converted farmhouse where our Legendary Texas Cuisine was born.
