That's what they say. I don't know how the owners found this spot but who cares. Just go. The food is fantastic, all of it, but particularly the steak tartare. Just go.

We love a French bistro-style dining experience and hadn't tried Justine's yet, so we looked forward to a group dinner with some friends there. We got there early, just before 6, on a Saturday night. The doors weren't open yet but there was a crowd of at least 20 on the sidewalk. Our party was seated in the house section,... More

I gave Justine's a 4 star rather than a 5 mainly because we had to wait over am hour to be seated. This restaurant should accept reservations. As a French woman, I can attest that the food is typically French and I know that the owners are from France. We actually enjoyed chatting with our waiter from Paris. Last night,... More

The food was some of the best I've ever had in the world and I used to live in Paris! Not your traditional French bistro [I learned to cook with my French grand-mere] but creativity taking French cooking to a new level. Dodds, our waitress, was just ADORABLE! funny, smart, efficient! And they even had Cynar to make me a... More

If you've ever read an Alan Furst novel, this may be as close to his Brasserie Heininger that you can find stateside in 2017. The atmosphere is electric, the service wonderful, and the food is amazing. We will definitely be back.

Most of you readers likely know that Justine's is a bit tricky to find. Sort of in an industrial area all by itself. Do not be discouraged however: you will be rewarded. Justine's does not take reservations. After a couple drinks one night at Kitty Cohen's we headed over just past 9:00 PM. They had a table and set us... More

This IS NOT a French restaurant. (If you have ever lived or visited France, you will agree). It is loud, with loud drunks, especially on a Saturday night. Seriously overpriced food. My burger had big chunks of seasoned salt (failure to thoroughly mix by chef). My wife's seafood was still cold in the middle! CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD ONLINE FOR... More

While the food and service easily rate 4- 4 1/2 stars I'm giving it neither solely because of the noise level. The "background" (foreground?) music was very loud, loud enough that everyone in the crowded space found it necessary to scream to be heard, which only added to the incredible din. It was so loud that our waiter misunderstood that... More

A small group of friends and I visited Justine's for a bachelorette party. This place is a real treat and a great experience. It was very crowded (hour wait for our table), but we were able to get drinks at the "tent" bar and enjoyed the patio. Our escargot and meals were all delicious. I personally had the mussels, and... Justine's brasserie is a synonym of fine dining in Austin - deliciously cooked French food in a quirky spot. It is out of the way, way out on E. 5th, but well worth the effort. The menu is classic French brasserie style, including fresh oysters, but mainly meat-oriented. definitely a spot to visit, if nothing else to enjoy the ambiance,... More
