Wow. This place is great. It's a little house with 10 or so tables (including the porch). It's BYOB. We had chile rellanos and a salmon enchilada plus the queso. Also had the pralines and tres leches flan for desert. We at every spec. Sides were great too. So we're homemade tortillas. Wonderful spot.

I went to the restaurant with 5 others. Queso and chips were ok, chips were store bought. Salsa was average but had added sugar so it was a little sweet for my liking. The caldo was delicious. It was packed with vegetables and had plenty of chicken. The flavor was spot on. Enchilada poblano had good flavor but was a... More

Okay, the hours are a little funky so plan ahead for dinner. That being said, the food was really good basic Tex-Mex...served just like you were at home but having some nice acquaintance bringing your food to you! Very laid back. Room in the back for al fresco. No liquor license, but bring your own margarita fixings and they provide... More

This place has great food at a reasonable price especially since they are losing out on the profit margins associated with alcohol sales. The one thing that stands out to me keeping me from rating this establishment as a 5 is the fact that it seems like each time I am there, they are understaffed and the employees/owner is unhappy.... The food is made exactly how you want. Small and awesome place to have breakfast. The owner is very polite and takes time to understand your requirement.

I was sorely tempted to walk back into the kitchen in this converted house, to check and make sure my mother in law wasn't back there. I have never had fideo this good outside of her house. There are three menus, one for each breakfast, lunch and dinner, so while they offer a large number of dishes, they focus on... More

Took suggestion from hotel desk mgr and came here for huevos rancheros. Very small little house with maybe 10 tables and one man waiter and cook. But do not let first appearance keep you from great food. We walked in and picked up a plastic-covered menu and sat down. Waiter-cook took our order and quickly brought out the food. Coffee... More

Awesome breakfast burrito! I had the turkey bacon/potato and my husband had chorizo/potato burrito and two drinks and our bill was $9.00. There are only 6 tables, and you order at the counter. The adorable owner was moving people in and out very efficiently. Exactly what we were looking for to enjoy our last meal in Austin!

I was visiting some friends in Austin and I asked them to take me to their favorite Mexican restaurant. We went to La Cocina de Consuelo and I have to say that they made a great choice. I love Enchiladas and I ordered a chicken and beef enchilada. They were absolutely GREAT. The service also was great and the food... More
