I always love going to Cafe Malta. They use fresh ingredients straight from the farm, their menu changes depending on what is in season. Small and cozy and great place to eat with friends or with a date. The wait staff is friendly and prompt. I am never disappointed when I choose Malta!

Excellent food and ever changing menu. Great place to take a date or a dinner out with friends or solo. Chill bistro. Nicely located with amazingly easy parking given it's location.

We have lived in South Austin for almost 20 years and I had no idea Café Malta was even there! I don't know when this jewel of a restaurant opened, but I am so glad we found it! It is located in the strip center behind the gas station on the southeast corner of William Cannon and Brodie. The inside... More

Small quaint place hidden in a small strip center in South Austin. Had a great Sunday brunch. Nice variety of egg dishes all done with a Mediterranean twist from locally sourced ingredients. Bar looked fun and the cocktail menu looked like it would have been fun later in the day. Cheese board appetizer was really good and service was good... More

We had a fabulous experience at this tiny bistro tucked into a strip mall. Pleasantly surprised by the decor, food and service that was presented. Top notch.

This is not my first visit in this restaurant. I have been many times, because I enjoy the food and like the service. I had a croque-madame and I ioved it. They have a "Tour of the Forks" that I promised myself to try out. They have a menu from a different country and the wines to accompany them. Looks... More

...and completely delightful! Madame and I wanted something simple and good on a recent Sunday night, when we were trying to escape the clutches of the NFL on television. We'd read about Cafe Malta and, fortunately, it is in a part of Austin we know well, so even though it is back from the street in a little strip mall,... More

Sometimes strip centers have the best restaurant gems. Last night while in Austin on business my colleague and I decided to venture out to a restaurant other than our usuals and found Café Malta. I checked out the reviews and liked what I read so we were game. Several reviews complained about a limited menu and perceived small portions. Personally... More

It was a special occasion celebrating a visiting relative. Another cousin made the reservations. She likes the place. The restaurant itself is pleasant. The food was good. I particularly enjoyed their Mussels appetizer; very good. What detracted from the whole experience was the lackluster service. The most important factor that makes any restaurant memorable is the quality of service. Other... More

Don't let the small strip mall deceive you, this place is top notch and very classy. All of their dishes are delicious although portions are not shareable but perfect portions for one. The small cozy atmosphere makes you feel like you're on vacation and is further complimented by their delicious drinks. I recommend the Licosa and the Thank You Sir,... More
