Not as long as a line here compared to the South Lamar location. You will wait in line at either location but it is worth the wait. Once you order and sit down, the food comes quickly. There is a nice variety of ramen on the menu and I think the only ramen restaurant I've been to that offers Tsukemen... More

The food is very good and the layout is efficient and well thought out. The Ramen is good, but from the reviews I've seen in the Chronicle I'm not sure what the fuss is all about. They do have an interesting assortment of add-ons to the basic Ramen.

The original location in a plaza with other asian restaurants and shops. Just judge a book by the cover though. I love the Tsukemen at Ramen Tatsu-Ya. By far the best ramen I've ever had. The broth is amazingly intense and I love the thicker noodles. It's dipping ramen. So next time, skip the regular ramen and try the Tsukemen.... More

I only grade this so harshly because I love Ramen so much from all over the world (including many visits to Japan). Got the traditional Tonkatsu original bowl with extra Charsu. Meat was done well but the broth... the vital, most important part of the dish was lacking that fullness of flavor, the Umami that hits you a few seconds... More

Went on a day trip to Austin with just enough time to grab lunch. Worried about the line of about 20 people but it moved FAST! I ordered the "Old School" Ramen which comes with (among other things) grilled pork belly, marinated egg and a broth to DIE for. Served in a "Jethro" size bowl, I couldn't eat the whole... More

The bowl of Ramen is large and filling. Terrific comfort food. Reasonable prices. Be prepared to wait, there always send to be a line out the door. So far we've been seated in around 30 min. I ordered the dumplings as a starter, but they came midway through the meal. They were not worth the price.

Came here with a group of 8. The fast moving Line was out the door as usual. Once inside we ordered and our food was on the table in 10 minutes. Fast, delicious, and super clean. Still dreaming of these yummy noodles.

Line wasn't too bad. Had the veg ramen which was good, BUT I come for the kimchilada and the sweet and sour yodas. The Kimchilada is a twist on the michelada with Sapporo, kimchi spices and some type of delicious Bloody Mary mix. OH so refreshing. Usually $7, but $3 during happy hour which is daily until 6! The little... More

So, Tex-Mex in Austin is rockin', but this city is still pretty new to Asian food, which explains all the hype around this restaurant. The Vietnamese & Thai are all right in Austin, but I wouldn't recommend any of them. Long lines here, especially at night, maybe because ramen is good hangover or pre-party food. The ramen is pretty good,... More

I tried the #5, which comes in two separate bowls (one for noodles to dip and one for the broth). Both were amazing, and trying other entrees proved that Tatsu-Ya lived up to its name. The lines can be long, so don't be surprised to find yourself in a 15+ min wait (lines go down rather quickly).

Thank Sivan M
