Nice casual atmosphere, friendly service and live music. Some reasonably tasty food helps too! Good fried pickles, jambalaya, stuffed pork chop all got good feedback from our group. Fair prices. Would return.

By name and recommendation from family, expected Cajun café. The café décor and menu was very Cajun. However, the music was country (which I loved) but not Cajun which I expected. The service was very slow. I asked a waitress twice (not ours) to help me and she just ignored me. For the price, we did not get enough food.... More

A great place for music, food and drinks. LOVE the jambalaya. The food is great, the staff attentive and friendly, the beer is cold and they serve Community coffee with the desserts. I love heading over here for food and a couple of beers. Acoustic and electric bands and solo artists.

The food is great here but I often find myself avoiding it because it is carb heavy and usually fried. I'm trying to eat a little healthier nowadays! When I wasn't going for a healthy lifestyle, the catfish poboy was absolutely delicious! The owners really care about their establishment and it truly shows. However, the best part of this place... In all fairness, this was not the kind of food I wanted for dinner. I'd been making some poor food choices the day before and that day, and I wanted to stay away from fried or creamy food. Pretty much everything I saw on the menu seemed to fit that description. We had an order of hot wings for the... More

We had a cup of gumbo (chicken and sausage) and a fried shrimp Po Boy for lunch. The Po Boy was good, but not great. However, the gumbo was the real deal. The best roux outside of Louisiana. This small restaurant is located in a strip mall, and is not fancy, but the food is great. The service was fast... More

We make frequent visits to this restaurant; I can't believe I've not reviewed it yet! A local gem, tucked away in a strip center on Brodie Lane, Evangeline is one of our go-to's. We've gotten to know the owner Curtis, and most times we go, he's in there checking on things. Last week we went on Tuesday for our Valentine's... More

Their crafts pistolettes are delicious and addictive. If you like sweets, the Praline pistolette has a warm caramel drizzle and dusting of powdered sugar. The bar is tiny, the hospitality is unparalleled. Most likely you will meet the owner Curtis. He is the real deal, a Cajun from Lake Charles. You will see photos of many famous people on the... It is really odd, but this Cajun place has the BEST chicken fried steak! The batter is crunchy and really good. It even stays crunchy overnight. Fries are tasty as well. They are in a small strip center and are often times really crowded but they have live music on certain nights. I definitely recommend.
