First off the salad was great and had a wide variety of different dressings and sides. Secondly, the mushroom crepes are heaven! Overall great atmosphere and food.

This place has been here cooking up great food for quite a while- I've probably been coming for 20 years. I recently came here and was relieved that quality was still so good, and the place was largely unchanged. Good fish and vegetarian options, great fresh vegetables grown in their own organic garden. Well done!

Dinner with wife, son and his fiancé and her mother. Truly gorgeous venue. Love the feeling in this old house. Everything on the menu is excellent. The service is always five stars. Probably our tenth meal at East Side and we will continue to dine here as long as they are open. Compliments to everyone on staff here.

Found this by looking for reviews as we drove to Austin for our girls' weekend. We were smart to call ahead for a reservation. Even on a Thursday night, it was busy and there was a wait. It was our very first experience in Austin, and it was great! Quaint old house turned into a restaurant, so there are tables... More

The meatloaf wad exciting and delicious comfort food... fully satisfying and impeccable. The chicken/artichoke/mushroom soup was truly amazing. There's great talent and care in that kitchen! The restaurant is a former home, so tables fill several rooms--making the atmosphere cozy and the acoustic perfect for conversation. The decor is bright and classic. No loud music and no fuss... simply great.

Long time Austin classic...doing garden and local source before it was all the rage. Centrally located in an old home...some parking...nice lunch or dinner options. Adjacent little shop with beverage and a bite options.

Been here many times before and can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet. Eastside Cafe is always consistently good. Sunday brunch was no exception. Items our table ordered were various benedicts with ham, shrimp and crab cakes, and creamy spinach, as well as huevos rancheros, blintzes, and apple walnut waffles. Everyone left happy and satisfied. We don't know what their... More

We went to Eastside Cafe because it was close to the LBJ Library, and we were pleasantly surprised . It's in an old bungalow with lots of rooms. We ate in the Garden Room, simple and clean. My husband had the daily special, fish sticks and Mac and cheese, with a small salad. He liked it, although the fish portion... More

Over the years we have continued to return to this delightful homey restaurant, for their delicious menu offerings as well as the peaceful atmosphere. It is a converted house with small rooms which creates an intimate setting. Outside there is an organic garden to stroll through. We travel a fair amount and try different restaurants but this is a very... More

It is a tradition that my daughter and I have every time I visit her in Austin. It is quaint, quiet and special. The atmosphere, service, and food excels each time we eat there. We had a smorgasbord of choices and enjoyed each one as we spent time communicating and bonding with each other. Every bite was well worth the... More
