I have been to this restaurant couple months ago. The food and service were excellent . I don't know what happened to this place , thee portion is getting smaller and bland. Rib eye steak was tasteless and looked like it was cooked in a microwave . I usually don't say anything but i m not looking to come back... More

Once entering the restaurant you immediately get the smell emanating from the cigar bar so we chose to sit outside on their patio. The dinner menu had limited options so we chose items that we would not have normally eaten since we were already there. The waitress was friendly but was in no hurry to give me the check when... Got hungry while shopping and this restaurant looked as good as any. Turned out to be New Orleans cuisine (my wife's home town) with a waiter from NOLA that knew some of the people we knew. So we had some shrimp and grits and some jambalaya along with some friendly conversations and jokes about back home.

The staff are all so wonderful! Visited 3 evenings in a row. Cigars and drinks were great. Ate dinner one evening at the recommendation of Steve and was not disappointed. Second trip to DC with a stop here and everyone here after will always include 219!

I was on a business trip in DC and went out to dinner with some friends. One of the guys in the party lives in the local area and took us to Two Nineteen. I found the menu interesting with various Creole dishes. Based on the recommendation of the waiter I tried the Barbecue Shrimp on Cheddar Grits.. The meal... More

The 219 is just east of Market Square and a bit away from the rest of the major restaurants, but that made it easier to get in. There is a covered patio at the entrance and a room at the back off the bar. Since no one was at the bar, we were glad to sit there. It's a cozy,... More

Had another excellent brunch Two Nineteen last month. Had been here about two years and nice to see that the food and service are as excellent as ever. They do a nice job adding their southern New Orleans style to the dishes on the menu.

Me and a colleague went to hear the live music on a Friday night and have a few drinks and smoke cigars and had an awesome time. The atmosphere is very laid-back and lighting is just right. Tends to be packed with people on Friday night with the live music but that only means that they are doing something right!... More

Description
Housed in a historic 19th century townhouse blocks from the waterfront, 219 has for 40 years been a beacon for the most authentic gourmet creole experience possible outside of greater New Orleans. Executive Chef Marcus Olson has taken things one step further and introduced a truly unique gourmet butcher experience--USDA Prime steaks dry-aged 21 days in house and cut to order to your exact specifications. Your meal is complemented by a 750+ bottle wine list and a massive whiskey selection. We offer private dining rooms in addition to our elegant main floor, and offer tasting menus custom-tailored to your preferences. After your meal, you can unwind in our spacious second story lounge and be entertained by world class blues music most nights of the week. Whether your taste runs towards alligator and etouffee, or to succulent aged steaks, we invite you to rediscover your favorite Old Town institution.
