Cedar Knoll is fit for foodies, unfortunately not for much else. Owners have done a fantastic job refurbishing this amazing location. The problem is that the menu is generally inaccessible to most neighbors. The items on the menu are floriferously described with alliteration and extremely detailed descriptions, almost recipes. However, I'm unfortunately concerned that the neighborhood cannot supply enough foodies... More

I so wanted this place to be a hit with the new ownership and chefs, but alas there weren't enough pluses to warrant coming back. The location with it’s view of the Potomac and history make it a prime spot. We sat in the Presidential room and enjoyed the décor; however all of the windows were dirty. It looked like... More

The "old" Cedar Knoll had nice food but closed due to??? The view is still awesome especailly on a warm Spring, Summer or Fall day so I would suggest you sit outside. You might want to make reservations through Open Table even on a week day! The new owners have "cleaned" up the place and it is very inviting. Service... More

It is said that the Founding Father, George Washington, enjoyed fish, cherries, and especially porter beer. All of these are found in exquisite culinary form at Cedar Knoll. This restaurant is right off the Washington Parkway which leads directly to the President's Mount Vernon estate. The establishment is perched on a hill overlooking the Potomac River, and one can enjoy... More

We loved this place! I've been driving past it for two years and we finally decided to go. It was great! Food was creative and delicious. View was beautiful. Only complaint would be the service. Our waitress seemed to disappear for long periods of time and we ran out of water several times. I would definitely go back though.

This long running restaurant has re-opened after having been closed for renovation (think). The setting is beautiful with views over the Potomac. The interior is classy but casual. The service is friendly. We came for lunch and had Rockefeller fried oysters as starters and they were delicious. I then ordered the hamburger which had a very exciting description on the... More

Over a long weekend visit to the DC area in late September, Saturday lunch at the resurrected Cedar Knoll restaurant stands out as the dining experience to remember. The setting overlooking the Potomac is beautiful, and the service was welcoming and attentive. My wife rated the arugula and roasted chicken salad as the finest dish of her weekend, very flavorful... I went on Wednesday, Aug 31 with my wife and another couple to celebrate their anniversary. We started with champagne and a lovely array of appetizers, mini lobster rolls that were delightful, with sweet hunks of delicious lobster, oyster Rockefeller and some of the best oysters on the shell that I've had for years. They don't have an extensive menu... More

We were looking for a place on Sunday afternoon to grab a bite prior to touring Mount Vernon. Cedar Knoll was the perfect spot. I called ahead that day to make reservations. I would recommend. calling for reservations. We had a great booth by the window that looked out to the Potomac. In the room next to us a guitarist... More

We went for dinner with friends and had a very enjoyable evening. Our table had a view of the Potomac River. Service and intervals between dishes paced perfectly. My husband ordered the chicken with brie & figs and couldn't say enough good things about it. We are going back to both have the chicken dish. The desert options are great.... More
