By far the best filet mignon I have ever eaten anywhere!!!! We will skip the Lynchburg restaurant lines for a meal here anytime.

With each visit to Amherst we look forward to a meal at this top notch restaurant! Each time we leave it's a discussion on what a delicious meal we had - some of the best anywhere from soup to steaks. We've never been disappointed - a must try! Next trip I'm having a bowl instead of a cup of their... More
Stop for lunch before hitting the Blue ridge Parkway. Friendly and attentive staff, great lunch food. Nice portions for a reasonable price. It's definitely the place to be for lunch, it was packed by 1230.
Just off U.S. 29 in Amherst, Virginia, this is convenient & a great choice. The wait staff is friendly & helpful. My reuben sandwich was stuffed with tender, thinly-sliced corned beef...very delicious. I selected sweet potato fries, & they were tasty but not greasy. My husband loved his French onion soup. They also offered cheddar broccoli, chili, & a chicken... More
Considering the small size of Amherst, this is a top notch all-around restaurant. All of us liked it on the several visits we made there. Besides the excellent beef entrees, there are also seafood and vegetarian choices, all good. The beer, wine, and drinks are also good.
Could not have enjoyed my meal more. It was delicious. The service was super because the waitress was good and had a friendly personality. The owner of the Amherst Inn recommended the Briar Patch and I'm so pleased he did. When we visit Amherst again next year, we will be sure to go back and have another meal at the... More
We went there for a Christmas party last December. The food was good and the service was pretty fast considering the large crowd.
I ordered crab cakes with creamed spinach and pasta alfredo for sides. It was all hot and delicious. Even the ice tea was excellent. Love this restaurant.
We went on a Friday night, the wait was pretty long I felt. We had the chopped steak, burger and prime rib. Everyone seemed happy and full. The mashed potatoes were great. I would go back if we returned to Amherst.
