We happened upon this little restaurant and found delicious authentic Greek food. Large portions, reasonably priced all served in a friendly atmosphere.

We tried this independent family restaurant “Opa” on a whim and were pleased that everyone enjoyed their dinner. We have two kids who aren’t easy to please. We went back a couple of weeks later and enjoyed it even more. Everyone working there is really...friendly and works hard to please. The food is fresh and clearly made from scratch. Portions are generous and reasonably priced. Opa is a gem.More
We had dinner here while traveling in the area. This restaurant is family-owned and you can tell they want you to have the best experience every time! We got a table by the window and were treated to great service. I had a gyro and...my husband had chicken souvlaki. Both were very good! We also had the fries which were fantastic. Definitely worth a visit for lunch or dinner if you're in the area!More
My family and I found Opa! on Tripadvisor because we wanted Greek food last weekend, and we were so glad we did. We made reservations for a Saturday night dinner, and were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. The owner and...our server (his son) were both friendly and helpful, and we felt that they made sure our first-time experience at their restaurant was just perfect -- and it was. Both wore masks the entire time we were there, but we could clearly see our server's non-stop smile from his eyes -- again, he made us feel very welcome during our visit. The food was fresh and delicious -- just like we remembered when we lived in Greece. The dips (several variations of tzatziki), the salad, the grilled pork dish, the mixed grilled dish (O.M.G. Sampler platter) were all made from fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned and were all at just the right temperature when they arrived at our table. My wife and I usually do not like American-style desserts because we think they are too sweet, so we were ecstatic to get authentic Greek dessert dishes we remembered from Greece -- for example, Greek yoghurt with honey that is a simple and tasty dish that doesn't bog us down after a meal. The portions were generous -- we had enough leftover for a delicious lunch for the boys and me the next day. Greek wine isn't anything to write home about (sorry, Konstantinos), so don't expect too much from the wine selection. However, what we saw on the menu and ordered were all reasonably priced, and while the wine didn't knock our socks off, the food and service together made for a perfect dinner for my family and me. Prices overall were great for what we received.More
Good food and can take to go or eat there. Serves beer and wine. Fries on lots of entrees. Friendly staff.
We have been twice now to try out a variety of dishes. All our dinners have been fresh, well prepared and delicious. Our waiter both times, Riley, is very knowledgeable and friendly. The chicken souvlaki wrapped in a pita with the tzatziki sauce is one...of my favorites. We will definitely be back.More
So I love Greek food and would eat it constantly if I could. OPA was right on my way between errands so I opted to get a late lunch there. It is a small place right in a shopping center with a Giant and several...other small stores and restaurants. I was greeted as I entered and I immediately paid. My food was ready and I was on my way. I got the tzatziki appetizer and the OPA gyro. There was a ton of pita with the tzatziki but there needed to be a bit more for the amount of bread. The gyro was huge but very greasy (from the fries) and white there was a huge scoop of tzatziki on the opening there was none inside the sandwich. The pork in the gyro had great flavor and the tzatziki was perfect consistency (and flavor). Just needed less grease and more tzatziki.More
We live in South Carolina - North Myrtle Beach. We have NO Mediterranean nor Lebanese restaurants that are worth anything. So we love coming back to NOVa to go to OPAs for gyros and good humus! Service is good and the food excellent.
The inside is nothing fancy but the food is fantastic. It’s a family owned restaurant and the staff are always friendly and appreciative. We get take out from here frequently for lunch and for dinner and have never been disappointed.
We had a great meal at Opa Mezze last week. We started with spanakopita, and it was great. I had the pork souvlaki and I loved it. My wife had the Opa gyro, and she gave it her seal of approval. Our daughter had the...greek salad, and she liked it. We ended the meal with some baklava. Great stuff. We were very impressed with this place. We will certainly be back in the future.More
Our Greek food experience is based from our trip to Athens. The Greek Salad here does include lettuce which is my preference, along with chopped veggies, feta and Dolma (rice stuffed grape leaf). Absolutely divine. We asked about a favorite dish, and the waitress checked...with the chef and told us the best alternative, which turned out to be the Keftethakia, extraordinary meatballs with feta insdie on a bed of creamy sauce that I think was tzatziki. Sublime!!! We also had the Chicken Souvlaki (fabulous!!!) and the Lamb Kabob (also superb with onions and peppers). Terrific customer service and parking availabilityMore
Authentic Greek food. Fresh and delicious. It’s a great little place. It got a bunch of awards a few years back. I have tried several dishes and they are all excellent
The place is run by an actual Greek family who offer Chicago style beef-lamb gyro as well as Opa! style with pork. I have visited Greece twice and this food reminds me of many street side cafes in Athens, Irakilon, and Salonika. My favorite items...for take out or a quick bite are the Chicago style gyro and some extra pork or chicken skewers on the side. The Athenian stuffed chicken is great and the orzo is soft and savory. The Dolmides appetizers are really wonderful as well as the Spanikopita. They several have real Greek beers that I like to have with my meal when I can. You don’t find Greek beer many places and both choices are nice Pilsner styles. If you enjoy Greek food give this place a try, it’s worth it and moderately priced.More
The restaurant seems past it's heyday of great reviews. The newspaper reviews posted on the walls of the restaurant are outdated, old and from around 2012. The food does not taste authentic at all. The food is overpriced and I left thinking I had wasted...nearly $50 on mediocre food that I could have gotten much cheaper elsewhere.More
I am not Greek but growing up my Mom's best friend was from Crete. The flavors of this restaurant remind me of my childhood AND of the fabulous greek vacation I took last year. The food never disappoints and the staff are very friendly. I...highly recommend you try this place out!More
