Hubby had steak dinner and I had Chicken fried steak. Both tasted great. Baked potatoes were huge. Food portion just enough. Service was great. Waitress was friendly. Not too expensive, just as you would expect from a Mom and Pop type of restaurant.

We braved a windy & rainy day to sightsee in Anacortes. After hours of art galleries and the old hardware store we were looking for a warm place to have lunch. We peeked in the Island Café and it looked like there were lots of locals sipping coffee and reading newspapers. Their menu is varied and quite extensive for such... More

You never leave Island Cafe hungry; you might even take food home. Breakfast is delicious. I like omelettes.

Waited a long time for order to be taken. Once it was taken drinks were never refilled and the order came out incorrect. Once again we were never checked on.

This is the best restaurant for the menu is endless! Everything is made with care and that homemade taste. The service is the best and we have never had a bad meal here! You can eat here for any occasion and have a great time.

We tried the Island Cafe for lunch on a Tuesday as we were waiting for our ferry to Lopez Island. A good choice. Our server was a personable young man and the food was fresh and tasty. My husband had the Tempura Prawns...beautifully, lightly prepared...and I chose the Pot Roast which came with 2 mounds of mash potatoes, veggies and... More

We ate here twice during our stay. The first time, we shared the Seafood Platter and it was really good. The second time was a disaster. I ordered from the breakfast menu, even though it was dinner time, and that was a big mistake. My food was actually inedible. I told the waiter and he offered to cook something else,... More

The building has a certain charm; beyond that I wouldn't return. The owners decided to augment their income by plastering the tables with business card-sized ads. Very distracting and unpleasant under your plate. The service was slow and inattentive. We had to plead for refills on beverages. The food was mediocre. Breakfast probably rates as the best overall choice; but... More

Stopped on a Friday night for dinner. Resturant had plenty of open tables which should have cued us in. I had the pot roast dinner. A heaping portion of roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy and veggies. The meal while filing was just ok. Husband ordered fish and chips with clam chowder. The clam chowder was good with plenty of clams,... More
