Great food, great service. Decen prices and located in a beutifully restored old house in the old centre of Salvador. We would definitely go back.

There were lots of people at the tables outside but inside it was very quiet, however we liked it as we were seated beside the window and as it is one floor up there was a lovely light breeze. We had the steak for 2 and it was really nice and cooked as requested - rare - not always easy... More

We booked a crazy drumming session for 5 right on the Pelourinho. I probably put way to much energy into the leg part of drumming (dancing madly around my percussion instruments ) and I could hardly walk after, so I begged my younger gang to sit at one of the first restaurants on our way back to Largo de Jesus.... Casa de Gamboa is a great restaurant in the heart of the Pelourinho that serves outstanding Bahian food - the seafood and fish moquecas are really excellent. They do have outdoors table but what I truly recommend is to get a table on the first floor where the decor is classic and very traditional (and slightly erotic with paintings that... More

Wow...having a meal in one of the most magnificent places in Brazil is priceless and when you find a great restaurant, the experience is way better! I totally recommend Casa da Gamboa, the house tiself is part of the city's history, it belongs to a well-off lady that helped a lot of women giving her own milk to all babies... More

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary here for lunch a couple of weeks ago. The restaurant is located upstairs, in an old building in the Pelourinho. Food was absolutely fantastic! The best bolinhas de bacalhao you will ever have--an appetizer dish with 8 large bolinhos. The fish entree was really delicious, atmosphere perfect...colonial, old school. I thought it... More

Mistakes do happen.......I get that. Nevertheless tonight I was presented with a bill on a very official printed added sheet: all our dishes were there at the right price...but the total just didn't didn't add up. After 10 minutes of kerfuffle, the waiters said the machine may not have been reset...hummm! Honestly I rarely check my bill, but when I... More

Definitely the best in Polourinho. Nice food, normal prices, clean environment, and very very kind staff. Had dinner in the terrace, peaceful and relaxing, they even gave us mosquito lotion!

Went to lunch with friends and we were delighted with the food, service and ambiance. The perfect place for an afternoon lunch in the old town.
