Pelo Bistro is located in a hotel -- Casa do Amarelindo -- in the historic section of Salvador. We have already written a very positive review of the hotel. The restaurant is also deserving of praise. We enjoyed some of the best caipirinha cocktails before our dinner. I ordered a ceviche -- which was quite delicious -- for my appetizer.... More

We stayed at this hotel and enjoyed our first evening dinner here. Moqueca and the steak were delicious. It was a very relaxing and romantic setting. Service also great and they accommodated my young children.

This restorant, part of hotel Casa do Amarelindo, is a delight. We tried "Muqueca" (mixture of shrimps, fish, vegetables and coco milk), tasty but not so spicy, light, with fresh ingredients and with a brasilian Rose Wine up to the quality of the food. If you are visiting Pelurinho and want a better than the local aberage restaurant, this is... More

We were recommended by our Poussada. Excellent coocking. Mix of afro-european. Very good Mocaceha with fish and shrimps.

Lovely restaurant with patio in Pelourinho centre. Good food and reasonable prices. Great wine menu as well. Service is nice but could be a bit slow sometimes, but I've noticed that's something quite common in Salvador/Bahia. Don't miss the rooftop bar with sea view!

We loved this place - great atmosphere with modern takes on local cuisine. One of the best restaurants in Salvador, and we tried a bunch of high end places.

Went to the roof top restaurant.... One guy serving which was not a problem as I was the only person up there.. He was out his depth and everything seemed too much trouble and just kept Justin Beiper on a loop. Menu if you can call it that was hamburgers, nothing special and not worth getting in the lift for.... More

Seemingly owned/managed by a French expat, the food was delicious and the service was amazing. We ordered off of the price fixe menu and it really didn't let us down. The ambiance was charming and dimly lit with an outside patio option as well. Would definitely stay in the hotel - Casa do Amarelindo - next time and would return... More

This roof top hotel restaurant is high above the city center in the delightful Pelourinho neighborhood (streets full of drummers and African music). It is popular and filled to capacity nightly with inside and outside options and a great place to watch the sunset on the ocean below. The menu is extensive and gourmet but the ambiance is informal and... More

My husband and I just spent our honeymoon traveling around Brazil. We are from New York and love fresh and flavorful food. We loved staying at Casa do Amarelindo and tried the restaurant at first by chance after arriving from a flight. Our first lunch of taboule and shrimp and mango salad was phenomenal. Everything was the most fresh, the... More
