One of the few restaurants where you eat overlooking the cliffs and the ocean. I'd recommend coming for the sunset, get a bottle of wine (great selection) and then stay for dinner. Lamb rack was bomb.

The food is very good, the best part is the see facing view( even though at night you don't see much), sitting next to the pool was another relaxing element. No bugs and mosquitos was a big plus in this jungle land. The price is like in São Paulo, 70-100 Reais for the main course. It is right off the... More

El Gordo is in the quadron and it has probably a great view if you go before sunset. They have high standards and a meny with more tha just moqueca and shrimps. I tried the lamb and that was best best lamb in Brazil. My husband ate the lagoster in thai sauce wich was great. The service was good but... More

El Gordo serves authentic seafood. The atmosphere was amazing! We have ordered two shrimps dishes. One with pepper and the other with curry. Both of them were excellent. Wines are welcome as well. Fully recommended!

Everything was great including rooms, meals, drinks, pool, location on Quadratto, proximity to the beach - a short 10 minute walk away, etc. But the best thing was Sheila the manager who went out of her way to answer her guests questions and to take care of all of their needs, both on the property and off. Looking forward to... More

We fell in love with Trancoso and it was sitting at El Gordo for lunch that we decided to get married in Trancoso. We actually ended up hosting our welcome reception at El Gordo. The view from the restaurant is breath taking especially during sunset. What also makes El Gordo so amazing is the staff and the food. It is... More

The food was decent, but I found the prices too high for what we get. The service was excellent, the chef came to our table to talk about the menu and was very friendly. It was a nice fine dinning experience, but needed more improvement.

A tiny hightop table, teetering over the coast of Bahia. A bottle of rose, white fish and banana risotto. Completely delicious and fantastic!
