This was definitely our favorite restaurant in Paraty! Every dish, from the appetizers to the main dishes to dessert, was perfect, and the service was outstanding. If you go to Paraty, don't miss out on this gem. It's popular, so make a reservation if you can.

800 reais for a dinner: 2 adults and 2 teenagers; 1 bottle of Brazilian white wine and shared desserts. Fish, shrimp, octopus far from extraordinary. Surprising enough, not a single dish with "banana da terra"; a shame. Hard to understand why the place is listed among the top in Paraty. However, after dining in the city for 3 days, we... More

A friend suggested the restaurant to us, but we were disappointed. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary, specially considering the price. Absurdly expensive in our opinion. Dishes serving a single person cost around R$100,00. We expected more for that price.

We are many times in this beautiful historic city and always visiting "Banana da Terra". This restaurant is still a highlight here since years. The quality of food, the deliciousness of the recipes and the professional (and quick) service are astonishing. Constant quality instead of a great start and then a steep decline (what we can perceive often in Brazil).... More

My only regret is not having the chance to dine again. Ate dinner on our last night in Paraty. The experience was so amazing we were contemplating staying another night so we can come back to try the other delicious dishes! The service was faultless inspite of the language barrier. The food was so good and tasty. Don't even hesitate... More

I had lunch yesterday (Sunday, April 9th) and ate octopus dish. It was really good. But when I asked for the bill, it took 15 minutes to bring it. And they do not apologize for that.

Banana da Terra fulfills its popularity. With a very creative menu and interesting proposals for traditional brazilian and caicara ingredients delivers a great experience for a fancy beautiful night in Paraty. Also, the place is beautiful. Little recommendation: Invest on English classes for waiters or at least the manager, that would made it perfect. Try the octopus!

We were late for our reservation here after a storm hit. Staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating and alongside this the food was imaginative and tasty. Really enjoyed the shrimp with black rice.

Delicious restaurant specialised in the regional caiçara food, mixing fish and bananas. Maybe the best in the city.

Great restaurant, lovely atmosphere, well trained staff, amazing seafood dishes. Go for the scallops and shrimp starter, my absolute favorite. Not a cheap place to go, but worth every penny!
