Do not forget to order the bread basket, they are amazing! The sea food cassoulet is very good, but should come with a rice side dish.

By all Brazilian standards, an excelent French cuisine and service. Congratulations to chef Frédérique Monier and his staff (it really does not seem like one is in Rio, with its very poor quality of services). On Fridays some cool jazz, starting by 5 or 6 PM.

Great food, great service. The owner and the Chef are French. Make it a stop on your itinerary. Had the bruschetta and a sandwich for lunch. Had an unbelievable Bloody Mary.

This is one of the few places open around the central Rio area after 5. It has a lovely atmosphere, a broad range of food that is delicious - great cake in particular. Very reasonably priced and good service.

When you go to a French brasserie you expect having good simple food. My Quiche was not bad but impossible to identify the leeks taste. Disappointing as it was the salmon one. Service is just ok. My wife received her salad requested twice when finishing her quiche. Location and facilities are great.

Really happy we found this restaurant. The chef/owner is a French master chef. Well worth eating here. Had the seafood.... And was very pleased with my choice.

Food was fresh and flavorful. Staff was attentive and quick. No menus in English so go with you translator if you don't speak Portuguese.

We arrived as a party of 9, and the team were quick to put tables together for us. We left the appetizers to the owner and they were delicious - pates, veggies, cheese, various breads. Some had lamb - very tender; steak - tender and tasty; homemade pasta with saffron sauce and seafood - outstanding; fish, also very tasty. Reasonably... More

The restaurant is located in an old building that in the early 19 century that was used by the King of Portugal during his stay in Brazil as the tresury of the crown. The restaurant besides the exellent frech dishes also has one of the finest bakeries in Rio with superb pastries. The location of the restaurant makes it an... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
