This place has a nice bohemian vibe. Very casual and unassuming. I emailed to make a reservation and they were very accommodating. The food and drinks were great! I had the passion fruit caipirinha - yum. We ordered crab claws and feijoada-stuffed egg roll to start; pork ribs and grilled steak as our main dishes. They were tasty, well-seasoned and... More

When I think about the wonderful & pittoresque Santa Teresa I cant help thinking about this great restaurant as well. We went there twice, the first time we had the dinner on the terace and the second time the lunch inside. Both times the food was stunning! I deeply fell in love with their recipes and with the pirarucu fish.... More

If you are a Lost fan, you will get a kick out of seeing the host, a Sayid lookalike! We showed up at lunch time on a weekend, without reservation. The place was full but we got a table without much waiting. It's a lovely place with a beautiful view of the city. The staff was courteous and efficient and... More

The food is good and well-prepared. Unlike another poster, I found that the portion sizes are fine. We had the pork ribs and the Brazil nut encrusted fish and desserts. I guess my biggest complaint is that the caparinhas that were full of ice and that the food prices were high. There was a woman that spoke English and could... More

Very nice place with cosy atmosphere. The dishes where delicious with exotic Brazilian ingredients (such as Jambu which makes your tongue sizzle funny). We had some nice vegetarian food. After your meal try the Cachaça with Jambú!!! They also have a small but nice selection of local and Amazonian craft beers.

I first read about this restaurant while searching for vegetarian restaurants - when I got there I realised it wasn't 100% vegetarian, but they did have a full list of DELICIOUS vegetarian dishes, appetisers and of course salads. I ordered a "Bobó de legumes organicos" which is a kind of vegetable stew made with coconut milk and it was simply... More

We visited on a Monday night and it was very quiet. The food was fantastic! We had a sharer plate of cold plates to start which was delicious. It was the main that really impressed though. We had shrimp stuffed white fish with a nut sauce. This was served with nut rice (incredible) and a mix of other sides. The... More

Very cosy restaurant in Santa Teresa. Tables outside, in the balcony close to the trees, are perfect for late lunchs. They have a nice range of fish and seafood plates, but my favourite is the Moqueca de Banana! Vegetarians will love it!!

The place is well located in Santa Teresa which is a very nice neighbourhood. The menu is quite long with loads of options that are all quite original and different, and inspired by Amazonian recipes. The decoration of the place is also quite cosy and different. I thought it was decently priced and would recommend.

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
