Place does a big delivery job. Sashimi and sushi are spotty and inconsistently cut and prepared. Cuts to thick.

After three visit to this restaurant I have to revise my review of the first time (February 2014), that was enthusiastic. I ate here again in September 2014 and now, January 2016. Very mediocre food: mushroom appetizer very salty (too much soy), squid appetizer with...More
I have always liked this little Japanese restaurant and I see that other travelers have to. So, here is a warning: My husband and I ordered a steak on a sizzling platter (carne na chapa). This, normally, comes fairly rare as it continues to cook...More
It's a well known japanese restaurant, with very nice sushi, but kind of expensive. Good to be with friends for a relaxed diner.
This place is very tiny but the sushi is outstanding. Very fresh. My husband had the noodles -- also yummy. The beers are the coldest in Rio. There is a larger sushi restaurant across the street but two local guys sitting next to us said...More
One of the best japanese restaurants in Rio for sure. Traditional food, great service, fresh fish, nice presentation and the best of all is that it´s all for a very fair price. We will always be going back.
It is a small place and we went early, right after the beach, but on a monday night the place was packed. Despite that, the service by 2 young ladies, was attentive and friendly. We had read some reviews that were mixed and did not...More
One of the best sushi I ever ate. I follow Deusimar and his sushi man for 10 years and his cooking skills were the best. Ask for them traditional as main course "combinado" and "Spice Tartar" as first course. Incredible...!
If you are looking for a traditional sushis/sashimis, Deusimar is the best in town. Quality, choices and beatiful people around. Smaal houses in Leblon and Ipanema and a larger one in Gavea. All same top food.
