The owner was welcoming people at the entrance. He said he was German, which was good enough for me. Food was nothing spectacular, but it was a nice change after a week straight of nothing but Chinese food. Other than the German owner, I mostly remember people watching while eating dinner.

At the corner of West Street and a side street known for its many restaurants, this place is one of the best for people watching on West street. They have blonde and dark draft beer (as well as imported canned beer) which is not that common in my experience. I also had half a dozen of cooked oysters that come... More

There are quite a few German eateries, apparently all same owner. Conveniently located with cushioned seating on street level as well as on the balcony. They have take away outlets serving hotdogs (¥25) and pork burgers to eat on the go. You can sit and enjoy the take away at their establishment but you'll have to order something to drink.... More

Being German myself, I found it a bit strange to stumble upon this small side street boasting three (or more?) restaurants offering German food and beer, apparently all belonging to the same owner. However, having had enough bad experiences with Chinese food during my trip, I was more than happy to tuck into Bratwurst with Spaetzle and wash it all... More

Popped in here tonight for dinner. There were a couple of tables outside occupied, but the inside was empty. Once I'd walked out, I understood why. The service was reasonable. Food came quick and the girls were friendly. The food here was bad though. The garden salad as a side was as basic as you could get. The side of... More

We were in yangshou in winter so the food fire was a big attraction, great little pub and has dark HB beer on tap, a very awesome beer. Had a good hearty meal of sausage and potato which was nice as it had been quite a while! Good pub to enjoy a beer, have a meal and relax next to... More

We had a GREAT experience at this German restaurant. I was surprised by the other poor reviews. We arrived at the restaurant after climbing a mountain in Yangshuo. Thankfully, the waitress brought us cold washcloths. The waitress was nice, the atmosphere was great, and the food was excellent! We had bratwurst, spaetzil (THE BEST!), schnitzel, croquettes, mashed potatoes, and sauerkraut.... More
