We dropped by Frank Stith's famous Highlands Bar and Grill in Birmingham, Alabama. Chef was not there, but over checking out his other 2 restaurants, nearby. Next time we will call ahead. The ambiance and décor are excellent. The food was FABULOUS. The service was constant and very much appreciated. After hearing about Master Chef Frank Stith from the multiple... More

Our family came together for an early Christmas gathering in Birmingham to golf, spa and eating at Highlands was at the top of our list. we reserved about 6 weeks before. Sadly, our night was marred by a series of unfortunate circumstances. The potato on one the plates was very cold. Before a new one was brought to the table,... More

Thank you, Trip Advisor, for telling us about this place. We started with the grits and could have stopped there and been happy. Nope, we went on to the grouper and the veal, and the banana pudding. What a fabulous meal. We will be back!

We had business associates in town from Maryland and opted for dinner at Highlands. This restaurant never fails to impress, from the impeccable service, wonderful location in Five Points South, focused menu and excellent wine list to the best fried oysters on the planet. I have taken friends from all over the US to this establishment and they have unanimously... More

I cannot count the number of times my husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed a meal at Highlands. Whether we are alone, with our children, friends, or other family, we have never once been disappointed. The menu is seasonal and changes rapidly, but there is always something available for every palate. If you like fish, order the fish. If red... More

Dined at bar perimeter table. Excellent service and food. Greeted by name when we arrived. Shared the crab beignet and oyster trio apps. Excellent and tasty. Shared the pompano entree- nice presentation; great blend of flavors, fish well prepared. Also shared a bottle of wine, which remained chilled in a bucket with a stand next to our table. Nice touch.... More

I visited a college friend who now lives in Birmingham and she took me to Highlands, ive only been once but once was enough to leave a grest impression on me. Its such a beautiful restaurant, outdoors its covered in bricksvand ivy, and indoors its all candlelight and wood. Favorite dish: Gulf Oysters, Local Lettuces, and the Pork Osso Bucco.

My wife and I (from New York) visited old friends in Birmingham and were prepared for a foodie experience. Our hosts had booked a 6:30 reservation on Saturday night at the Highlands, and we were promptly seated upon arrival (they have a parking service next-door to the restaurant which is really helpful on a Saturday night). Although the restaurant has... More

This dinner was to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary and I had requested, through Open Table, a quiet table for two. Tada! The service and restaurant did a great job on that. We were greeted by the Host, wishing us a Happy Anniversary and seated at a quiet table in the back. Our waitress was attentive and accommodating, but we... More
