Had a very tasty meal with local wine. Very central location in the side streets just off the main square and lovely to sit outside. Friendly and very helpful wait staff.

This place was recommended to us by the owner of Tutto Bene in Rovinj. Did not disappoint. They brought us a platter of fresh fish to select and we had that with an octopus salad and a couple side orders. Really well prepared - simple and tasty.

We enjoyed the wine bar next door before arriving for our dinner reservation...definitely do that! It was late in the evening and the catch of the day was sold out so we had a limited menu to choose from. Our server seemed preoccupied and tired. In his defense it was late in the evening and late in the season. He... More

Giaxa has a more modern look and feel. We looked at the menu at the door and didn't see many options for a vegetarian but decided to try anyway. Our server was great... but the only think they could do for a vegetarian was a side of potatoes or grilled vegetables and a salad. Many other places will make a... More

Lovely setting in one of the side streets off St Stephens Square. A number of us had the fish stew with beans and that was great. But my monkfish was awful. I asked initially how the sea bass was cooked and when told it was steamed asked about the monkfish - grilled with oil. It came out in the middle... More

Comfy place, with a cute and romantic vibe, good service, and the food is delicious! Would go again anytime I revisit Hvar. The lamb rack is really good.

Great wine, good service, the food is delicious. We got the monkfish for our main and it was sublime!

Fish stew was so good, I'm still thinking about it! Service was friendly and attentive. When asked what the fish of the day was, the server goes to the kitchen and comes back with a plate full of fish they caught that day. He was really knowledgeable and explained what each fish was, how the chef could cook it, and... More

Place looks lovely and glamorous. The staff is welcoming. But the food is overpriced and not responding to description. They don't know what a confit is nor the difference between fish fillets and fish chunks. Wouldn't recommend or eat there again.

We went to Giaxa our first night in Hvar. We didn't have reservations but only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. They seated us outside and we had wine while we waited at the little tables in front. Dinner was great, we ordered the sea bass and Gorgonzola beef medallions with gnocchi. It was a fantastic dinner.... More
