When we entered their was no waiting. Some food items are very tasty but things are overrated by people. If quality and hygiene has to be taken into account, this place will be 1 out of 5. From the curries section, we ordered Dal(lentils curry), Palak Paneer(Spinach and cottage cheese curry), Choley(Chickpeas curry) and Kadai Paneer(Cottage cheese thick curry made... More

The stories are indeed true - if you want to experience exceptional Punjabi food at a ridiculously cheap price; this place is for you! We had three punjabi thalis (black daal, cholle, 1 gobhi parantha, 1 aloo parantha and 1 plain parantha, curd with boondi, onions and mango pickles) - Kari Fry (a delicious curry made from curd, 2 bottles... A place to be if you love Punjabi Parathas full of Ghee (Clarified Butter)…! It has a history of over 100 years and is based in old city of Amritsar. You will love the taste and won't find same Dal Makhani anywhere else!

Basically the laurel's that one reads in the reviews is just OVERHYPE. May be being a very old Dhaba once upon a time it was very good, this old reputation gets the crowd to visit here, But believe me now the taste has literally gone to dogs. The alu paratha which I had at Ludhiana Railway Station on the course... More

Most people visiting this place are already swayed by the prospect of great north indian food before they are there. So once you are there, you are awed by the portion sizes, rich and spicy food. And what you overlook is the hygiene, which can be considered average. The food is good, surely not great. We ordered, Rajma, which was... More

Amritsar is the land of delicious Punjabi food. Frankly, we went to Kesar Da Dhaba just for its heritage value (who doesn't want to visit a dhaba established in 1916?) and because we saw such great reviews about the place. It is indeed extremely popular and there was a long queue even at 10:30pm - waiting to get a place.... More
