Something on the menu here for everyone - fresh fish, Thai dishes, western and even a few Tex Mex options. There's the weekly Texan BBQ as well which is well worth trying. We tried eating at a few other places as this restaurant was in...the resort we were staying in so we wanted to venture out, but ultimately nowhere else was as good in terms of the atmosphere, level of service, quality of the food and value for money.More

We stayed at Lanta castaway and ate at this restaurant every day. There was a really wide selection on the menu including, Thai, western and tex mex. The included breakfast was incredible and you could order as many items as you wanted. We loved the...banana pancakes. The main meals were so tasty and cheap ...we looked at other places outside the resort but none of them could match the Beachcomber for quality or price of the meals. Sitting watching the sunset with a cold beer followed by a delicious meal was amazing.More

Writing this review makes me hungry for everything I'm about talk about. I just returned from my 2nd trip to Koh Lanta and, clearly, I had to return to the Beachcomber based on my experience last time. Full disclosure - I can't handle a lot...of spice. In a country that arguably does spice better than ANYONE in the world, the staff here accommodated my unfortunate heartburn and I never felt limited to what I could eat - especially with local Thai dishes (there are so many on the menu) . I was able to try every dish I wanted, no problems. Before going into specifics....let me quickly recap the important things here: Service = 10/10.....there are buttons at the tables s if you want casual, unbothered vibes....you'll get that. If you want to be checked on frequently and have to catch a tuk tuk or boat somewhere else, no problem. You'll receive prompt. Any customer can have any kind of experience--however long or short they need. Value = 10/10. I paid more money many times at other locations at Koh Lanta for the same dishes and they weren't even close to the quality here. View/location = 15/10. You are practically on the beach yet never hot in the sun. You're literally staring at beautiful sand and water without having to lift a finger! Good for these owners....their land is truly unique. It's no secret why residents from other resorts flock to this place. Make a reservation and get there for sunset! I'm framing and making a canvases of the pictures I took while sitting at this restaurant. ******* Where do I start on this review....I guess with breakfast? Seems right. Ok, so I love breakfast. I could have it any time of the day. I prefer to try local options as opposed to what I'm used to and that's my rule wherever I travel. Though one of my favorite items was a western dish, I am still thinking about the breakfast burrito (in my picture). Holy smokes--I don't think I could remake it to taste that amazing in 100 tries. I also tried many of the local Thai dishes and regrettably did not take a picture of most of them. Next to the fruit picture I attached is the one Thai dish I got 3 times in 2 weeks. The egg, greens and fresh shrimp on the meal was amazingly light, delightfully flavored and just perfect. You don't have to get seafood--but it's always an option - as is beef, pork or chicken (or none of the above). Please do yourself a favor and eat through as many dishes as possible. They're easily shared....not overly portioned and so reasonably priced that you have no reason not to do what I just said. I tried the Pad Thai so much that my 2 sisters traveling with me told me I couldn't eat it anymore while we were on the island. To be honest, the Pad Thai is one of the dishes I had in 2019 that made me revisit the restaurant in the first place. One a scale of 1-10.....10 being the best, it's a 12. We traveled the island on excursions, daily walks, shopping, etc. and had plenty of meals at other restaurants. I didn't have a bad experience at those locations but none of them held a candle to the Beachcomber. To be honest, I compared every dish to the ones I've had here. EVERY Thai dish is amazing. I think I had 4 different types of noodles in all my visits there. I learned so much! The staff was kind and patient with my crew of 3 and everything came out incredible each time - no matter the time of day. BBQ night---GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. They're onto something here. This is a regular thing for us in the states....and having it 8,000 miles from home tasted better. Joe, the manager, really has a future with this initiative. Try it....the mains, the dessert, all of it. Ok, now I need to go order some Thai food from here in North Carolina, USA. It won't taste as good but it makes me feel closer to where I just was.More

Perfect, plentiful, able to share and best food on the island! The atmosphere has an island vibe, you can dine near the beach, at the bar or under the roof of the reaturant. We ate family style most meals and shared everything. A few of...my personal favorites? The beef salad, cashew chicken and the pork egg noodle with long beans as well as the pineapple friend rice. So delish! The pork satay was accompanied with the best peanut sauce and the vegetable tempura was served with 2 dipping sauces, a chili and plum sauce. A must try. The drinks are beautifully handcrafted and made to perfection. They are super creative with both food and drinks. I may have ordered my way through the Thai and Tex-mex menus. The Tex-mex pizza was essentially an open faced quesadilla, and yummy. As for sandwiches? Both the club and ham/cheese sandwiches didn’t disappoint. I appreciated the way they cut the bread, tiny triangles. Everyone should eat here. Plenty of people came nightly from other resorts, and on the BBQ night, reservations are recommended!! You will enjoy every single bite. Sooooooo good. And as far as service? They have a little button to ring on each table(make sure the red light goes on), and someone will be at your table in a minute. Pure genius.More

Well this bar/restaurant is situated behind the Layana Resort and Spa. Luxury hotel for Adults only. You have to drive up to the reception area of the hotel and then get a buggy down to the beach. There they have luxury sofas etc to sit...on and enjoy the evening sun fade away at sunset whilst you enjoy your 2 for 1 beers during Happy Hour. Then if you fancy forking out a FEW Bahts, enjoy a luxurious dinner all served by very attentive waiters..More

Super expensive with average service and food. Went for the Texas Pitmaster BBQ, which was good but really pricy. The ribs were well smoked but very salty and the price for 5 ribs was more than what you’d pay for a full rack somewhere else....The staff was indifferent, slow service and unsmiling throughout.More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks, had breakfast every day and lunch or dinner on occasion. All the meals were lovely and well presented, the staff were all amazing. We didn’t eat here more only for the reason we like to get out...and about and explore the local cuisine, which is worth doing. Beachcomber is well worth a visit though if you’re not staying here, you can’t beat the setting and the food, western, Tex Mex and Thai is all delicious, as are the cocktails!!More
