BBQ dinner here was super and I think the chef has more experience so they know how to cook well. Love the mexican chicken, lamb, chicken wings. And for beer and other alcohol you can find here too.

Fuelling up after beaching

Awesome BBQ at Barat Resto. Place your order near the bbq pit for fish or swuid or lamb. The seafood will be weighed in front of you and pending for your agreement before its bbqed. BBQ set comes with rice & coleslaw. The burgers looks...awesome too.More

Busy and Lively

The restaurant was packed when we were there. They had to open more tables to accommodate us. The setting's pretty relaxed and lively. Everything's great on the menu from the starters and salads to pizza and BBQ. Service was quick despite the busy crowd.

Options for vegetarians

Good selection and quite a good number of choices for vegetarians. They offer a BBQ in the evenings. Staff are friendly and accommodating but service can be a bit slow. Worth having a meal there .

Basic but acceptable

Nice beachside location. Menu fairly standard but tasty and affordable. Western and Asian dishes. Bbq from 7pm.

Still using plastic straws. Disappointing

Food was good and the scenery was nice although it was very disappointing to see that they still used plastic straws. And no matter how many times we asked the waitress to give us no straw, they always did.

Reasonable price and good food

Food is ok but the barbecue is too monotone. They should offers few types of grilled rather than single taste for all types of fishes/seafoods. My son love it’s pizza

A bit more expensive than other places but good food if you get the Malaysian dishes. Nasi lemak, roti canai, mee memak, fried rice, chicken and rice platter all good. BBQ dishes all excellent - esp the grilled squid and grilled barramundi. Yum. Other dishes...are not so great - avoid the butter chicken in particular. Service good and beer most appreciated.More

The Barat Perhentian Cafe Restaurant

We stayed at a neighbouring resort but find ourselves coming here almost exlusively for all our meals. We like the resort style ambience and outdoor tables under the trees. There is a wide variety of finger food, local,Asian and western options on the ala carte...menu and the food served are all tasty and to our liking . Beer is served here ,Rm15 for a big can . We really like the coconut frappe or shakes. Service at the restaurant is prompt and friendly and open all day from morning breakfast until late at night. We recommend this place alright.More

Our restaurant every night for BBQ !

We stayed 3 nights in Besar and had BBQ dinner every night at the Barat. There was always a choice of squid, fish, tiger prawns as well as some meat options, along with vegetable skewers, corn on the cob but you could also limit your...choice of side dish to rice and salad that came for free when ordering BBQ proteins. They also served fresh beers and cocktails, setting is very romantic and seems to be the meeting point on this side of Besar.More
