I thoroughly enjoyed my chance order of catch of the day, beautiful tasting locally caught fish. The owners and staff friendly and very knowledgeable they offered to pair the wine for me so the combination of tastes were superb !
I really like this restaurant I have been a few times now I always leave happy, which for me is half the reason for eating out. The setting at the top of the old town is great next to the fabulous church and water font....Food never disappoints, the steak strips in salad with a ceasar dressing is very tasty and not too heavy, great value for the quality of the meat at nine euroMore
It’s the best food we’ve tried ! Tired of all the fastfood in MNE we stopped at the square when saw some tourists ordering seafood so decided to sit down and cool a bit. The seafood is so delicious we almost ordered a second plate...😛 The service is at the top level! 100 points!More
The food was absolutely delicious! My husband had sea bream fillet and it came with a side dish of scrumptious grilled vegetables and baked potatoes.
I ordered a whole fish and was pleasantly surprised when one of our helpful waiters came to debone it for...me. The staff spoke good English and tried to keep the conversation going without being overly familiar or pushy.
The portions aren’t massive, which was great for us, because we finished our dinner with a slice of mouthwatering apple pie and cheesecake.
The place is really popular, so better reserve a table in advance, although the staff are very inventive, and were able to expand the seating capacity by adding a couple of extra tables. The location is fantastic!More
So for me I like this place for the wine and food combined, together with the atmosphere. I have a WSET wine qualification so I tend to gravitate to restaurants that no what there are doing with wine.
A bit more digging and you discover...the owner of Portofino (two very charming brothers) are also a wine producers co owners, so it becomes even more interesting.
Recommend this place for a atmospheric meal away from the beach side and all that hit and miss wine and food, to this place for sure is good - take a taxi if you hate steps, head to the top of the old town behind the beautiful churchMore
Beautiful food, great location, fantastic service, great price. What’s more to say?
Particular emphasis on the waiter (guy with glasses and long hair) - he is clearly a hard worker and goes above and beyond for his guests. The guy deserves a raise! I’ll definitely...be back here.More
If you only have one meal in this cute little town, then I highly recommend you have it here! From the moment we arrived, we were promptly greeted with open arms by one of the owners, Miodrag! He made us feel at home right away!...The place is so cute, and quaint, with beautiful outdoor seating views of the church and fountain. Our server Zarko was super friendly and took care of us as if we were family! The Sauvignon white wine was fantastic, and a perfect match with our seafood.
We decided to have the seafood plater paired with a catch of the day; The Muscle Cracker fish! Both dishes were absolutely phenomenal! The fish was so fresh and perfectly seasoned. The seafood platter had some of the best shrimp and calamari we've ever had anywhere in the World! We also had the chance to meet Zeljko, the other owner, and he even took the time to sit with us, and chatted with us about his World adventures aboard cruiseships!
We are so happy we stopped in this quaint little town, and had the tremendous pleasure to eat at Portofino Bistro! The brothers Miodrag and Zeljko, truly care for each customer walking up to their restaurant. They are passionate about their food, and culture, and it reflects in the outstanding customer service and delicious food! Two thumbs way up to these two guys, who will welcome you with open arms into their wonderful home!More
Great Italian restaurant, the pasta was very good and had a good selection of cocktails. We went at night and it is one of the best locations in the city, a nice cozy square, next to a beautiful local church (worth visiting).
