The food was very good but the wine was superb. Moreover, Dusan was an excellent host. ..the proper mix of good customer service and old world courtesy. There was one drawback...the portions were so large that I was had to get it to go and...have it for breakfast. :-)More
We went back to this restaurant to eat again on our return to Podgorica..The food was excellent, reasonably priced and the waiters( esp Dejun) so attentive ,polite and charming. Don't think twice just eat here.A rare treat The portions were big too
All the food was so gooood: the staff was very helpful and the Host was exceptional. Was in Podgorica for work and came back to Lanterna almost every day. There is this home feeling and I always felt welcome. It made my stay in Podgorica...perfect!More
We came back for a second night on a three night stay as it was that good. A lovely atmosphere and the food is great but the hosting is even better - Dušan is a credit to this restaurant and makes sure you feel extremely...welcome. If we ever return to Podgorica we will be back here for sure!More
We visited Lanterna based on trip advisor reviews. We were not disappointed following our visit! We ordered pizza as our main which the lovely waiter Duśa kindly helped us choose! We each had opted for the largest pizza and he explained to us that it...was very large for one person and he could do half and half for us to share. It was great advice and our pizzas were delicious! We also tried the brandy liquor which I believe is the Montenegro national drink! We both opted for deserts in which I had the crepe and my other half had the house desert- ‘milk cake’! We were both really impressed with the food, service, atmosphere, and general friendliness and warm from the restaurant. A must visit if in Podgorica!More
On a recent visit, on a very rainy night, my friend and I were greeted at the door by three servers who provided a genuinely friendly welcome and took our wet coats from us. The restaurant was impeccably clean and very comfortable. The menu selection...is rather large and our food preparation was terrific. All through the evening the servers were attentive, friendly, and willing to make suggestions for food and wine. We enjoyed the food and the overall experience.More
This was the best service I've ever received in a restaurant. A quaint welcoming atmosphere and good, well-priced food combined with lovely staff really made our stay. If you're uneasy about going anywhere as a tourist, I can assure you, you will be pleasantly surprised....We were treated with so much respect, we felt as if fe were in the classiest restaurant around. We got to enjoy traditional cuisine and got a taste of a home-made liquor.More
Had a leisurely Saturday lunch sitting in the garden. The setting is quite traditional and so is the food. My colleague ordered soup with rolled cabbage and I had some pork stuffed with cheese. And of course a large fresh salad and equally fresh white...wine. It was very cozy and comfortable. The service was very good. The portions were so hefty, though, that we were not able to finish all.More
Perfect Traditional restaurant in Podgorica. The staff was amazing and the food delicious, big portions and so tasty. The local wine also is a must to try !
Tooks too much time to find the site, very good quality of traditional food, I ordered Njeguski Steak it was excellent, lamb ribs also very tasty and draft local beer. My wife ordered beef it was not their speciality as I think; very hard meat....The place is great, the service very good and friendly waiter.More
Went here based on good reviews - took us two attempts to find it, as the TripAdvisor location is totally wrong. Use Google maps instead! Nice atmosphere, standard Podgorica service (friendly enough, but slow). My stuffed cabbage rolls were really nice and great value, perhaps...could have been salted a little more but I could remedy that myself. My boyfriend’s veal under the bell was delicious and pull-apart tender, as well as being a huge portion - but only warm in parts; some of it was stone cold. And served on a cold plate. Hit and miss.More
This place was a little hard to find due to building work in the area throwing sat nav off course but we were so glad we persisted and found it. The food and wine were delicious and the environment, in an old courtyard , was...lovely. Goulash was so tender it literally melted in the mouth. Definitely worth seeking out if you're in Podgorica.More
Chose this restaurant based on Trip Advisor rating. At first it seemed very promising. Nice atmosphere and warm welcome. We ordered the lasagna which was pretty good. We also ordered the "grilled veal ramsteak" which was substandard. We were never asked if we were satisfied...with our dishes and the fact that the veal remained untouched was ignored. This was not a case of taste preference. The overcooked veal was served with old stale rice. Lanterna, please instruct your staff to be more attentive to your guests and certainly refrain from serving poorly prepared dishes.More
nice cozy place. The food was great. English spoken. And great service overall We had the Chicken Soup, the veal cutlet, and the pasta carbonara. All accompanied by great local wine recommended by the waiter. Excellent experience
