We were recommended this restaurant by local friends and whilst the restaurant itself was nice and the service very good, the food was not authentic and a local version of Chinese food. The rice in particular wasn't very good, I left a good deal of my tofu and the mushrooms were Sri Lankan style (as indeed was most of the... More

Dear Nimitta, Glad to hear that you enjoyed the service and atmosphere. The authenticity of our dishes vary, our cooking style is very similiar to that of the Sichuan Province in China - spicy with gravy and red/orange in colour. All the Kandy folks would know this to be our signature way of cooking food and it has been a... More

The best possible meal and service you can get in Kandy...!! I use to go to there old branch at kotugodella veediya and the service and food was alright (good then too) but after moving it seems like they have seriously levelled up! from the moment we walked in the new decor was very appealing and the waiters all greeted... Kandy offers quite some restaurants but this must be one of the more unique ones. Dodgy entry and a bit fake Chinese decorations do not really give the place a great appearance. Food however was good and the price was ok. If you are tired of a cheese kotthu this is a interesting alternative

Dear Guest, We don't like to be considered an alternative to a cheese kottu however since it's a widely enjoyed locality we'll take that as a compliment! Also please do come to our new location at No. 281 D.S. Senanayake Veediya (The Finance PLC Building 3rd Floor), it's right opposite Trinity College - we're sure the word "dodgy" won't be... More

Looked at the TA reviews and thought we'd give it a try. The vegetable and vermicelli was overlooked bland at best. The eggplant and pork my wife ordered was extremely salty and the eggplant was deep fried so much that all that was left was crispy eggplant skin. Probably the worst meal we have had in 6 weeks of traveling.

I was recommended here by a Sri Lankan colleague and were it not for that I would not have gone in the building. It was grubby and uninviting, a set of stairs lead up to the entrance and the restaurant inside is tired-looking and quite dark. Not very many people were in but it did fill up with two groups... Located middle of the city very close to the temple of tooth, this Chinese place is very good for a change from your normal diet. I went there with my family members without booking the place and find that its almost full and reserved. Anyway the staff were able to fix 2 tables together and accommodate us. Service is friendly... More

Alright, so it's classic South Asian Chinese food, as opposed to Chinese-Chinese, but it's really very good. The servings were absolutely enormous - we had to pack enough leftovers to last for lunch for two the next day as well. The one surprise was how quickly Kandy empties at night - we entered the restaurant at 830, by the time... More

A part of the Flower Drum chain and the food is quite similar with a typical Sri Lankan Chinese menu. Ordered pork in black bean sauce, stir fried mixed veggies and sweetcorn and crab meat soup and happy with all. The steamed rice could have used sticky rice instead of the dry type they used but no other complaints. The... More

When our family wants to dine out, the first name which comes to our mind is Flower Song. We never miss to order "flower song special" rice always.
