Before hotels came into existance, there were lunch places frequented by the working middle class which had their own loyal clientele. This is one such restaurant, food is as authentic as can be. Cleanliness standards will not appeal to those who have moved up from the middle class. But it is a very homely place serving genuine south Indian food... More

Typically and totally unclean. Previous diners' rice grains and droppings were scattered across the table, which was mopped by a dirty cloth, albeit carefully. The kitchen was in the far back but it certainly won't survive a close inspection or, even a cursory one... Some things are better left in the black box. But the food was worth it! The... More

This is one of the few pure vegetarian hotels in Kandy. The cleanliness is questionable. Not recommended.

Having seen the reviews of this place, we dropped into this restaurant for lunch. Rice was ok, Sambar was too spicy with some strong masala. Rasam was good and the other side dish items like poriyal & koottu were just ok. It is a small restaurant with no proper parking space. Since the place was not clean, we packed the... More

This place is good for Asians who like Vegetarian food prepared by Brahmins and served on Banana leaves by Brahmins. The place is located next to the Hindu temple on the Peradeniya road in Kandy town. I don't t recommended this eatery to foreign tourist. If they are curious they can check it, but will love the food except the... More

Despite a typical tourist apprehensive attitude to the 'cleanliness' of the place, my immediate summary is that this is a truly fantastic little establishment nestled in the lovely Kandy. Our accommodation host recommended we go here for Ghee Dosa, and we were not disappointed at the quality of the food. Delicious. Unfortunately I can't speak for the rest of the... More

The standard South Indian fare was unexceptionable. We enjoyed the genuine flavours but enjoyed the equally genuine desire to make it an enjoyable experience for us even more. We went with young children. At one point the kind gentleman who owns this clean, basic establishment was practically feeding my three year old! We found the warmth shown to us very... More

We went as a family of four to kandy for vacation. This hotel is a very good pure vegetarian hotel. The hotel owner is very much helpful and care-taking for our dinner. They offered hot idlis and tasty onion oothappams for us at a very reasonable price. Must visit for all the veggies.
