I have eaten at this restaurant several times. It really is a classic meat and three. Grab a tray, walk through the line, and tell the servers what you want to eat. The food is good. It can get very busy around lunch. Very affordable place to eat.

I ordered the beef steak and mash potatoes and broccoli.... the mash potatoes are out of the box not from scratch and taste very nasty. The beef steak was burnt and hard. I have been to this restaurant in the past and food has been fine but tonight I literally threw most of it away. Complete waste of money.

I used to come here often when I went to UAB. The food is great, the restaurant is clean, and the service has always been excellent. We still come by when in the area. If you want a home cooked southern meal (Salisbury steak, country fried steak, fried green tomatoes, turnip greens, Lima beans, homemade pie, etc.), this is the... More

The restaurant is cafeteria style, which must be an Alabama thing. (not knocking it, just different). I have eaten here several times over the last few months. The food is average to good depending on the day of the week. Portion size is equal to the cost. A meat & 2 with your choice of bread with water to drink... More

Their meat and three is a great deal. By far, they have the best squash casserole, fried chicken, banana pudding, Mexican cornbread in Birmingham. I eat there at least twice per month.

The menu consist of southern style food but everything our family ate was processed and tasteless and not up to standards. The yams were gummy and full of cornstarch. The mac and cheese was plain. the desserts were worst than store bought. The chicken fried steak was salty. there were seven of us and non of us enjoyed our meal.... More

I've dined here twice within the last three weeks for lunch during business trips. They have lots of meat and three choices. You go through a line and get food quickly. Then you seat yourself. Waitresses will bring you water or tea and give you a ticket. You pay on the way out. The food is good. It's reasonably priced.

This place has been serving consistently good meat and 3 meals for over 3 decades. Nothing fancy, but really good "southern" food served by people who care about their customers. Very affordable.

Every time I pass through Birmingham, I stop for fried chicken, mac & cheese, and collard greens. It's hard to find a "fix" equivalent to this most anywhere else!

Hands down, the best friend green tomatoes in Bham! They are set apart by using panko vs the traditional cornmeal and there is ZERO comparison - sorry Whistle Stop! Can't beat the convenience of the drive-thru anytime of the day and cafeteria style dining. Selections are changed daily to the regular menu and always fresh. Best fresh friend catfish and... More
