While visiting Huntsville my boss took 8 of us to Old Greenbrier. It was super fast! I had the boiled shrimp - 2 dozen! The guys had the large BBQ platter & it was large! One guy had the ham it was huge too. They also have self serve ice cream for 25 cents fix it yourself! What a gem... More

Hubby and I went Saturday afternoon for a late lunch and we were not disappointed. I got the large whole catfish plate already planning ahead for leftovers (I got to eat it two more times!). And hubby was hungry so he went for the Combination dinner - no kidding when they say it's a lot of food! All tasted good... More

Nothing fancy but good food. Some of the best fried oysters I have eaten. Excellent catfish, bbq, hush puppies, chicken and soft serve ice cream for a quarter. Well worth the visit.

The food is good old country cooking! I like it, but the place needs a bit of fixing up and maybe a good cleaning?

Some friends of ours took us to this restaurant which has been around since 1952. I ordered the large plate of bar-b-que and it was all I could eat. It was great! Also, they serve it with a white bar-b-que sauce which is awesome! When you first sit down they start you off with all you can eat hush puppies.... More

I have ate at this restaurant several times. This is the first time I have been disappointed. I had the catfish fillet, hush puppies, cole slaw & sweet potato. Nothing was as good as expected, and the sweet potato was burned. The person with me had the chicken finger meal. She also stated that this was the first time she... More

Five of us ate here and we all liked our food. I had the fried oysters and my husband had the fried shrimp. We both loved them. Who would know you could get such good seafood out in the middle of nowhere? The sweet potato was also great. The only thing I did not care for was the coleslaw… the... More

The fried catfish, hush puppies and coleslaw was great! We also ordered BBQ pork, it was really dried, cold and don't taste as good. We ordered a whole pie because we thought it was home baked. Turn out it is a ChefPierre pies from a box. That's was kind of disappointing.

Reasonably priced, good food, excellent service. Very friendly place. Catfish is the best. Love the location and atmosphere. Simple but good. Well worth it.

If traveling through the area this is a must. Unlimited hush puppies, soft serve ice cream, burgers and local classics. It's the whole experience of the service, food, patrons, atmosphere and even the drive there that gets you tuned up. Two things though, when it's busy it's busy, and when it's slow it slow. The last couple trips we went... More
