I usually eat here, once per month. It is really nice tasty food. They had last autumn cray fish dumplings, which was great!!now, good one are shrimps dumplings,i don't like the one with meat. Now,they are offering "crab meat" dumplings, and when I tries,it is nothing, but meat dumplings - I complain and they told me they are mixing "crab meat powder" with minced meat. I said it is cheating, and price is double. Don't eat that one,or order normal meat dumplings

As a simple meal, Xiao Yang Sheng Jian is a good choice. Sheng Jian Bao has a variety of fillings, pork and shrimp fillings are the best. Paired with a bowl of soup, it is a satisfying meal.

While the Shanghai pan-fried soup dumplings are my favorite, they weren't the best I've ever had. I arrived when the restaurant opened and it looked like these were prepared earlier. They are always best when they are fresh in the pan. However, I really liked their version that included crab liver. That was much better. I also tried the tofu curry soup, which was a nice addition to a hearty breakfast.

You must go here for really good tasty local dumplings - free jasmine tea and only 12 CNY for four large hot fried dumplings - plenty for lunch. Compact and very clean. The true experience

For the price you pay you can't ask for anything better. This dumplings franchise is all across the city and will do the job to feed you in a pleasant way without forcing you to spend a lot of money.

Four years later I still think about the 生煎包!(Luckily a Shanghainese restaurant opened near my house🤗). Can’t wait to bring my husband here with me one day so he can experience the bite that made me love 包 forever! 我爱Yang’s 太好了 好吃。 我爱上海。

A must try when visiting Shanghai! Yang's dumplings are crisp on the outside and piping juicy inside. Do give the prawn dumplings or pork dumplings (Xiao yang) a try. A easy way would be to get the 3 combination set with 3 different flavours to try. Personally I would prefer this over the more popular XiaoLongBaos as not only is it much larger, it has stronger flavours and the crispiness of the outer skin makes it a perfect combination.

After tried all the variant dumpling that they have i prefer the 14 yuan (4pcs) yang dumpling (the original one).
My second preference is the prawn one (if not mistaken is about 20 something yuan for 4pcs). Fast service.

I love these dumplings. I’ve been coming to Yangs every visit to Shanghai for years. For a cheap simple meal these can’t be beat. Only regret is I’ve never had the seafood dumplings as selection can be limited.

Read many good reviews so my expectation was quite high but it ended up disappointing as the dumplings were not to my liking.

Wonderful dumplings. Fun to watch them being cooked. You pay , hand slip through a window and get your dumplings. Be careful, they are really hot and squirt. Let them cool a little and puncture them. Food is good and cheap. Our lunch was less than $12 U.S.

While I love the shanghai pan fried soup dumplings, these were not the best I’ve had. I was there when they opened and these seem to have been made earlier. They are always best fresh off the wok. I did love their take on them with one version with crab meat. That was better. And I tried the tofu curry soup which was a nice way to round out a hearty breakfast.

People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
