Came here as the restaurant was near our hotel (Waldorf Astoria). Had a wonderful meal here where specialties of Yunnan cuisine are served. Some of the dishes were very similar to food from Indochina with perhaps a slight twist. Yunnan region is near Indochina so the food can be similar. Restaurant has a few floors and decor is exotic. Very... More

Nice restaurant serving Yunnan cuisine. The restaurant is decorated in a traditional Yunnan style, including the serving plates and cutler. The food selection was good with clear description of the items. The only down side is that the place is a little too dim.

Was here for business dinner with a group of people. We were 20 people. Even though a busy night for the restaurant, they managed to keep us well served. It is a big restaurant. Able to serve 100 and 100 of people. Even if there are many people, the light and the mood creates a nice cousy atmosphere. It is... More

I liked a lot this place. Very nice decoration and very interstinf dishes. I usually do not particularly love Chinese food but this dinner was remarkable.

Visited Lost Heaven whilst in Shanghai. Restaurant is hidden behind bamboo which is very intriguing as you arrive. The walk upstairs to the restaurant takes you past stunning photos of China making you want to visit far flung places. The food is stunning the crab cakes and lamb samosas Chinese style were delicious and hot! Our main choices were equally... More

This was recommended by a tour guide from Hong Kong and she was right. Healthy and excellent food representative of the region. Sharing allowed us to taste lots of great dishes. Recommend!

Food was good overall. Service was intermittent as it was packed. Place is noisy but my major complaint is it was too dark. We couldn't even see what we were eating. Hopefully, they could separate the bar and dining area.

Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
