We were craving for pizza. Mid-range to fine-dining. Service was ok, nothing worth noting. I sent back the glass of pinot noir which went bad, and then they opened a new bottle and sent me some to taste. At least the new glass did not taste like vinegar, but it wasn't great either. We had 3 pizzas, the crust was... More

Consistent good Italian food plus lots of other items. I believe they make their pasta in house to go along with some good pizza. Easy place to stop if you are in the IFC mall.

I tried before it was better. This time it was deplorable. Margeritha was not enough baked, tomato sauce was raw out of the can horrible taste. Ordered recommended ravioli with shrimps...I can't imagine if it wasn't a recommended dish. Plate stone cold, shrimps felt like just out of the freezer, and ravioli far from aldente or even tasty. EUR 500... More

Group of 10 of us went for team lunch. Isola is in a great setting spectacular views out of their large windows and a nice terrace for the warmer weather. Lunch is a buffet starter, salad, meats, cheese etc., followed by the choice of mains (I had fish skewers which were tiny and awful-over cooked tuna and inedible prawn), followed... More

We stopped here because of the location to the sights. The wine selection is just awesome. The appetizers superb, the food outstanding. The service is paced and they take care of you. The sea bass was the best I ever had... check out the picture, the presentation was over the top, in a delicious garlic steamer....wow. I can't believe how... More

Our preferred restaurant in Shanghai with a wonderful sightseeing and food with excellent taste and perfect presentation: the sea pasta and the branzino are our recommended choice. Room management has a good Italian approach and maitre/chef both very kind. Dinner is expensive (other times we had brunch more affordable).

As usual a wonderful location with a wonderful sightseeing and the food selected for the dinner was excellent, with a wide choice of buffet's appetizers, perfect pasta and wery good main course. To close with the dessert's buffet was perfect.

Owned by the Hong Kong based Gaia Group, which is renowned for stylish and authentic Italian restaurants in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Isola always enjoyed the reputation in the fine tastes of Italian haute cuisine.
As the largest restaurant in Shanghai IFC with over 1000㎡ (10800 sq.ft.) of dining area, ISOLA Shanghai can seat 180, with additional 100 seats on the balcony area, and 30 in the bar area.
Designed by the world-renowned interior designer Hugh Zimmern, who also part-designed the "Commune by the Great Wall", the entire dining spaces are enveloped in elegance and tranquillity, reflecting a very contemporary level of designs, combining the classic 'white on white' reminiscent of its Hong Kong counterpart, leading from the dining hall, VIP rooms and intimate cocktail lounge. Its vast outdoor terrace affords stunning view over the beautiful skylines of Shanghai financial centre, making Isola Shanghai every inch this cosmopolitan city's hottest dining destination.
The open kitchen concept is both modern and lively. The dynamic artworks highlight the dining room's clean white walls, and the Futurist-inspired motif represent the urban industrial vitality that is today's Shanghai.
With a focus on fresh and authentic regional Italian cuisine, Chef Marco Busatti's menu offers a popular selection of traditional Italian salads, homemade pastas, stone baked pizzas (including Isola Hong Kong's famed 'Trifola' black truffle pizza), and an extensive choice of oven baked fish and seafood, and roasted meats.

Staying in Lujiazui

Neighbourhood Profile
When people speak of Shanghai’s futuristic skyline, it’s the financial district of Luiazui they are speaking of. Shanghai’s most iconic buildings are located in close proximity to Lujiazui’s elevated ring road and swanky eateries. Sky-high shopping and chic bars fill the highrises around the area. As is characteristic of a world-class financial business district, some of Shanghai’s best malls and hotels can be found in the neighborhood. While everyone on the famous Bund side of the river gazes in awe at these amazing structures, all the buildings here, as well as Lujiazui’s riverside promenade, offer great views of the historic buildings all along the Puxi side. The Lujiazui park often hosts music festivals throughout the year, and park goers can party and stroll in the shadow of some of the world’s tallest buildings.
