Very expensive, but fancy ..... it is in the first floor and the interior is very special and fancy, it is black inside with blue neon light and Japanese style tables at the window row .... so you have always to look up to talk to the waiter ...?? The prices are high!

Went there for dinner with a colleague this week. When you enter the place you have to be impressed with the room itself. Everything is very nicely appointed and it is 100% trendy! The downside starts when you want to start ordering! Apart from the Manager nobody understands or speaks sufficiently English! The result is a cumbersome process of ordering... More

The Dozo lunch sets are a good value. We had the seafood udon lunch set, which came with Miso Soup, salad, pickled vegetables, a side of cooked fish and the seafood udon - all for under RMB 80 each. Lunch was a good value and we were happy with the food quality and presentation. The restaurant itself feels a bit... More

Dozo offers more than just delicious Japanese food: the decor and lightshow is arranged very modern and stylish. At some time during the evening, Japanese drummers will perform a live show. The food is top notch!

Went for a company function. The restaurant is pretty stylish with nice view on Yan'An Lu by night. They had a good selection of beers on tab. The food was alright but not outstanding. Can't say anything about the prices, but it definitely doesn't look cheap.

I was staying at the nearby Hilton Hotel so this restaurant was an easy walk. The location and the layout of the restaurant is very good, quite modern and certainly more of a Japanese decor than Chinese which often happens in China. The service was prompt though perhaps lacking a knowledge in how to help you with suggestions on the... More

This is a nice Japanese restaurant close to the Jing'an temple. It's the sister restaurant to the Dozo in Taipei. Big door and nice glass elevator going upstairs to the seating area. The food is Japanese and the atmosphere is very cool. Lots of stone coverings on the wall with a raised "catwalk" type of walking area and tables in... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
