We decided to give this pizza hut a shot (western food in eastern country) for late dinner after strolling Nanjing road, knowing full well that it will not deliver to the standards but one will never know until one tries. We were taken to our table quite professionally. Reasonable selection in the menu and prices so we ordered Meal for... More

I was eating my first dinner at this place after I came from the airport. Nothing special. Just regular pizza and domestic beer. Funny thing is, that I received a receipt before even I got the pizza. Good thing was, that they accept my credit card, which doesn't work in most of the restaurants in China(!!!)

As many westerners visiting China would've experienced it's pretty difficult to find anything that does not seem to be stomach churning and so many of us head to familiar territory in the shape of the Pizza Hut or mcdonalds (when you have hit rock bottom). The food is very doughy and a bit tasteless. In fact the localised content like... More

I visited in Shanghai in Aug 2015 and as a fast food connoisseur I’ve kept an eye on how my favourite eateries have been integrated here. As I know, in Shanghai, beyond Papa John’s, low-priced pizza chain joints are few and far between. Begun with steak and "burger spaghetti" from a menu, which were really tasty. Pizza Hut no longer... Being an USA based chain there was no one who spoke English. I was dining alone. I was given the menu and the waitress came to take the order for 10 min. I had ordered at a small margarita pizza with olives and a coke. The bill was put on my table with the coke immediately. For the pizza I... More

I've been traveling to China for several years now. And, I do wish that Pizza Huts in the U.S. would adopt the same kind of menu as here! I've found that it DOES help to have someone who can translate for you if you want something that is not EXACTLY on the menu, though. And, this holds for every city... More

As mentioned, only an average Pizza, but frankly what should I expect in Shanghai from an international brand that has tried to cater predominantly for the local market.

This Pizza Hut sucks , may be good for local people but not for foreigners. No one understood. Knowing Pizza Hut global franchise, wonder why they can't hire few employees who can understand and speak English, knowing this location is right on Nanjing road where so many foreigners go. They brought our order wrong three times and we end up... More

Pizza at Pizza hut suppose to be uniform at all places but here I found it a bit off somehow. Service was slow, may be because we went there late lunch time. In China lunch time starts a bit early. Anyways, nice place to have at East Nanjing Road if you are vegetarian (for a day).

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
