We really love the truffle pizza and the meat platter. Service was prompt and friendly. Only set back, some guests were simply TOO LOUD ! Especially the foreigners....... maybe too happy ?

We were quite disapointed.. We had the small menu with nice fish starter but later dishes were served too cold. We ordered Chablis wine which was not good, too watery. The sommelier let us chose another wine after telling us that we should have consulted...More

Unfortunately we found this restaurant too noisy - the music was far too loud - it was very very busy and that did not add to the atmosphere - we found the food to be OK - wine was fine and not bad price wise

Having spent two weeks in Asia, we just wanted a great Italian meal... we got it. Located on the Bund, this restaurant offers a selection of all our favorite dishes, served in a great location and not to expensive prices

The place is nice, with a nice view, but too noisy. The food is good but little bit expensive. Our server was a nice young and enthusiastic woman, who spoke perfect English but she definitely overacted, that made me unbearable.

We had a spicy tuna tartar which was decent, well presented. Linguini Chili with shrimp and sea urchin was very good (apart from me not liking the texture of sea urchin, but at least I tried it!) and a whole Icelandic halibut with tomato, chilli...More

We ate here with friends and had a lovely table on the Bund. The views were fantastic! The little fried cheesy ball that was served as an amuse bouche was tasty. But from there we struggled. Our server was cute as a button and very...More

We discovered many restaurants on the Bund are not on street level so it took a while to find Mercado in an upper floor of Three-on-the Bund. We arrived to a lively, exuberantly noisy venue. The light level is low so servers provide diners with...More

I am a snob with both pizzas and pastas, and this restaurant leaves me unable to criticize either. The pizza was full of flavor, balancing the flavors of the crust and the toppings. The crust being airy, and full of flavor. The pasta, particularly the...More

The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the
world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous
waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts
monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai
International Settlement run by the British and
Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has
endured over time and is now found in the five-star
hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive

Mercato is a new coastal Italian restaurant from celebrated three Michelin star Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Three on the Bund. The gorgeous space created by Neri&Hu, bridges the organic and natural with elegance and emotive modernity. The experience begins from the moment guests enter Mercato's stylishly rustic surroundings. Reclaimed wood and warm leather tones serve as a gentle complement to the exposed steel, iron and glass to create an atmosphere that is polished yet warm and inviting. The design imparts a sensual feeling of comfort and lightness that redefines the idea of "farm chic". Mercato's decidedly simple and understated approach represents a refreshing addition to Shanghai's dining scene. The relaxed sophistication, addictive cuisine, and friendly, thoroughly unpretentious service paints a picture of Italian life as it should be experienced in its purest form.
