I'm REALLY critical about my Thai and also about my Indian food. I actually haven't had good Thai food in China since my travels in Thailand last year. This place is chill. The service was exceptional. I was weirded out by the strange option of both Indian and Thai on the menu, but hell... this is China. We get what... More

The spice was a nice, spicy restaurant. The service was great, although they do not speak English. The interior is super nice. One of the best Sichuan dishes I had in Shanghai.

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere but the prices are a bit high for mediocre food. Not bad, but I won't come back again.

"The Spice" is an unknown restaurant offering great dishes in a very welcoming atmosphere in the north part of Jing'An Area. Been there several times and haven't been disappointed once by the food ... A great variety of choices in both cuisines and if you are a little lost in what to take, don't hesitate to ask for advice, a... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
