We went to Hikari for lunch and had some a la carte makis. In my opinion, they were quite bland. I did not taste the mix of ingredients I was expecting from the description on the menu. The chicken in sesame sauce was too sweet and overcooked and my wife had a skewers mix in which, I am sorry to... More

We had an excellent set of box lunches for six. The sushi was surprisingly fresh for China and the food was beautifully presented. Highly recommended.

Great food, very tasty and fresh. We took a large selection of dishes. Everything was very, very good. Service was excellent, from the telephone booking of our table to the time we left was very friendly and warm. Few restaurants make you so welcome. As we arrived we bumped into a friend who said she eats here every week. Her... More

We live right down the street from this place, and it's become one of our favorite restaurants. I've probably been there about 20 times, and I've never had a bad dish. I would definitely recommend their sushi rolls (60-90rmb)...There are 2 or 3 pages of options, and they're all delicious. My girlfriend really likes the butteryaki steak, and the teriyaki... More

Excellent food, great service and clean place. Wide choice of sushi, sashimi and different Japanese dishes in a nice environment. Not cheap but resonable prices.

Thumbs up for this restaurant. The food is good with many different selection. Many different kinds of exotic rolls, fresh sashimi and other different kinds of authentic Japanese meals. Price is okay, not the best. Place is clean and environment is great for family. We come with friends as well as families. They bento box served only for lunch, you... More

Nice quiet place where you can enjoy great Japanese food. Good service and customer attitude with very reasonable price. If you are around this area a great place to go.

We went here for Teppanyaki with the children. It is not a show kitchen teppanyaki, but just a cook who cooks in front of you. Personally I don't like the show kitchens and I like the down to earth approach in this restaurant. We wanted to order 5 times the meat teppanyaki, but the cook told us that the amount... More

This is our go-to restaurant in the Gubei area. We tried a lot of things on the menu, everything is always fresh and tasty! Prices are acceptable compared to many other restaurants in Shanghai and the service is very attentive. Also great place to take your kids there, our son who never ate sushi before, now loves it!
