This restaurant never disappointed. I used to order from it on the Meituan Waimai APP in 2019. The food is authentic Shanghainese. I still dream about the food from here sometimes!

Grandma's House offers excellent and authentic Shanghainese food at extremely affordable prices. However, please take note that this location at 818 Square no longer exists. It has since moved to HKRI Taikoo Hui.

Definitely should eat at this restaurant when you visit Shanghai. Easy to find because have lots of branches. Ask your hotel for nearest branch. They can help you search through grandma's website. Most of the foods are delicious, i ordered pork shao kao, mala tofu,...dry chili potato, shrimp with glass noodle (i don't really like this one because the shrimp looked raw) And the most important its CHEAP.More

First time dined in this restaurant. The waitress recommended us the jiao Hua chicken which got a very unique taste, and also 1 vegetable and 1 cold dish which was really great. All the foods were served very quickly and efficiently.

Visited Grandmas for a quick meal. Close to the Bund. Clean and well organised. The highlight was the Kung Pao chicken which was brilliant. I am a lover of Kung Pao chicken, I like my chicken spicy and dark and this dish doesn’t disappoint. The...chicken is beautifully spiced with lots of dark broody flavours and just the right amount of sourness and crunch from the peanuts. Loved it!!More

I went with a friend who’s a local in Shanghai. I initially want to dine in that 2 Michelin stars restaurant but my friend do not recommend it said it’s overrated and suggested The Grandma instead. We were seated right away no line maybe we...just got lucky. The food is great. We had chicken, pork, and eggplant it was the best! It’s just hard if you don’t speak the language though they have menu with pictures. One of the best stop overs I did!More

Like its namesake in Hangzhou, Grandma's is a victim of its own success. Waits for a table are epic. Also, it has moved to HKRI Taikoo Hui across the intersection.

Took a lift in the shopping mall & came to the floor that was entirely taken by this huge restaurant. Decor / interior was nice. Waited 20 minutes before seated. Quickly ordered. Waited 45 minutes before our first dish arrived. Payment took another 20 minutes....Most staff members attitude were patronising when we asked if there is a mixed up with our order & during payment since it took too long. They would say coming right away & disappeared to who knows where. We had grilled aubergine, stir fried potato strips & the signature pork. All dishes tasted good, prices were affordable, they even have their own beautiful custom made China, but not worth the long wait.More

One of the things to take on board in Shanghai is really do not judge a book by it's cover. From outside the restaurant doesn't look like much but inside it was very nice and much larger than appears it also is not too expensive...either!More

Second time I visited this restaurant. I was here 3 years ago. A local friend took me here and came back with my husband this month. Didn't realize how popular this restaurant was. Not a tourist hangout. Allot of local people which is what I...like when I go on vacation. Food was delicious and inexpensive. Menu was All in chinese but had pictures.More

This restaurant is very busy and quick service. There seems to be many people waiting but seated very quick. Food is great and I definitely recommend the sticky ribs. We ordered a couple of times as I feel we eat much more than the Chinese....Don't look at the outside as it looks a bit shabby go inside and give it a try.More

If you are looking for delicious Chinese food and a great environment for a good price this is a place. They have a wide variety of food, but their English menu is not complete, so you should look at the Chinese one. The environment is...also great as well as the service. It is great for group meals, where you can share your food and try different plates, for about 35 RMB per person. A beer costs 15 RMB, but you can take your own drinks to the restaurant too. For example, I saw a Chinese couple bringing a bottle of wine from home. Ask for the grilled eggplant and the sweet pork!More

All of the food we got was really good, but they were out of a few things we wanted. They were even out of Tsingdao beer! A neighboring table had had a bunch of Tsingdao already and acted really mad when they couldn't get more,...but for some reason this branch was really out of a lot of their popular dishes. This was late on a Sunday night. Despite that, the food really was good. We had roasted pork belly (bacon), golden mushrooms, mango gelato, pan-fried potatoes (because they were out of the small whole roasted ones) and roasted eggplant.More
